Let me guess, bright start off questionable new ball bowling, gets completely stuck when the bowlers tighten up, loose shot to get out?Surely Stoneman has to go. Had 3 or 4 innings there and still only managed 60

"Tim is a key senior member of the team and we trust his judgement"I posted this a week or two ago, our process for reviews is absolutely atrocious and needs to be sorted out.
Today's theme seemed to be 'hey there's been a few strangles this series, let's review them' or 'we're behind and about to lose yet another series decider, let's desperately review'.
You could just as easily say like how easy Wagner and Boult found once the ball was about 10 overs old. England win probably the favourite at this point, but if Branderson don't make deep inroads early, then 120ish overs should not be that hard to bat out.lovely trenty has bowled very well today imo
i can. did you not see that ripper from anderson this morning? unplayable.
Haha exactly. Although the second one was equally as rubbish. It's been a theme of the season, absolutely atrocious reviewing."Tim is a key senior member of the team and we trust his judgement"
Southee and Williamson (rightly) cop a lot of flack for being terrible reviewers, but Watling is equally bad from one of the best positions to judge what's happened.I posted this a week or two ago, our process for reviews is absolutely atrocious and needs to be sorted out.

Absolutely. For a senior player in such a good spot he gets them horrendously wrong.Southee and Williamson (rightly) cop a lot of flack for being terrible reviewers, but Watling is equally bad from one of the best positions to judge what's happened.
They have been doing that quite nicely so far; bowling yorkers wide of the off stump. Got wickets for those, too.I think NZ should try and restrict them.. set defensive fields, bowl one side of the wicket and delay the declaration as much as possible. Wicket looks completely flat.
120 overs is always hard to bat out, especially when you have to bat 120 overs. You could just as easily say like how easy Wagner and Boult found once the ball was about 10 overs old. i think with CdG capable of doing the holding job and making a nuisance of himself in general we need to choose the more attacking options. Boult, Southee, Wagner and Astle would be my four main bowlers unless it's a dustbowl. On dustbowls you pick guys who can put 6 from 6 down the other end on the exact same spot like Santner/Ajaz.Only watched first 2 sessions, but pleased that Kane gave Sodhi a decent early spell with a hard ball. Created a few half-problems. But perhaps an accurate (defensive?) SLA is the better option in a test team where Boult and Southee keep taking wickets? Hopefully Ajaz Patel gets a run in sub-continent.
Will be interesting to see how much part Leach can play on day 4 and 5.
This, unless Hameed scores a stack of runs he stays in.Stoneman isn't great but he scored 90 for the test and thete's next to no back up
Yep, one reason England have usually been good is the fact Prior and Bairstow have been excellent at taking the emotion out of it and giving the captain an honest appraisal of each appeal. Obviously they make mistakes but over time I feel we have made less silly reviews, maybe some have been desperate if it is a key batsman but less of the daft ones than some nations.Southee and Williamson (rightly) cop a lot of flack for being terrible reviewers, but Watling is equally bad from one of the best positions to judge what's happened.
I said the other night but I would seriously consider Cook at 5 and bringing in Gubbins and Hameed if selectors chose a new direction. This, unless Hameed scores a stack of runs he stays in.
i'm dubious about the chase already tbhI see declaration talk has started with a lead of 230 with two full days left.
