Looking at their body language, I can't see this being anything other than a thumping win for SA here. I wouldn't rule out a strong response from Australia in the last match though.

****’s sake, the phone convo with Gillespie is so annoying. He’s bleeding to answer a direct question about Lehmann but they’re studiously avoiding it. If there’s one guy who really knows about his history....

Keep them in the field for as long as necessary.... I want the crowd staring down on them, not hiding in their box. Still a series to win and another test to go, short turn around...... let the Aus team burn under the magnifying glass.
Yeah pretty much. South Africa have a series to win and you want Starc, Hazelwood and Cummins bowling plenty of overs with tired legs during the 4th Test.

I know, it is funny.

The atmosphere is similar to when we played Pakistan and the spot fixing story broke. Eerie for a test match with so many there.
Yeah and that's sad. They're not even comparable. Australia didn't do anything every other team in history of the game hasn't already done. Australia just always claimed moral superiority and not crossing the 'line' which is what led to the eruption from the ROW overnight.

Has he?

Shame, one of the best coaches in the world.
Can’t blame him, tbh. Be a pretty **** job. Coaching a county side, being a head coach means something. You’re involved at the ground level with the first team, second team, developing young ones and general club feeling. Head coach of the Aussie side would be scratching around for things to do.

Doesn't matter if others do it or not. Really does not matter. This is the same thing that every drug taking athlete says.

To be honest, we are so sanctimonious about spot fixing....not match fixing. All they did was take money for a couple of no balls which barely had an effect on the game. However, its the principle that matters...and the principle was sport is about two teams wanting to play fairly to win. You can't cheat: whether its cheating the game or the spectators.

In the spectrum of cheating, I don't place ball tampering much below spot fixing. They're also cheating, and gaining an unfair advantage, and thus cheating the opposition and the spectators. I'm shocked that the laws of the game only deem this to be a Level 2 offense.

Besides, shouldn't South Africa be entitled to 5 extra runs?

Someone mentioned this today, but in this context the 5 run penalty feels almost completely meaningless.

Also, does the head coach of the Australian cricket team need to have an ounce of leadership skills or what? The press conference should have been done by Lehman and Smith. Ridiculous that Lehman's hiding behind the scenes during all this and hasn't said a word, and is letting his players take the stick out in the field while he sips the KoolAid in the airconditioned box.

I don't think there's another phrase uttered on CW so frequently that pisses me off as much as "just a couple of no-balls."
