I know I did it earlier, but if both your most out of form batsmen are on 45 and 39 it's a bit hard to complain about the run rate tbf.

Yup, wrong two players to be asking this of. Elgar is a grinder at the best of times and is out of sorts. Amla is a grinder when not in good nick.

Starc to Amla, no run, the yorker, the one that's moving. Who else thinks that would have got a No. 11 out? Full on middle and leg, defended towards gully

50.4
Starc to Elgar, no run, that's sensational! All reverse. The ball pitches and moves back in, Elgar wanted to leave but he somehow defends. That would have definitely got a No. 11
Sounds like Starc's bowling well, but Cricinfo's benchmark for a good ball is 'would have got a No. 11 out'?

Holding "Don't have a problem with them at all. They stop when the batsman is facing up and bowler is entering his stride"

Gotta love how the band then played right throughout the over with no breaks.

Amla smashed the cover off it.
He's very capable of laying waste in his ODI style of batting. I don't think he can turn it on and off at will though.

Some big reverse on a couple of balls from Hazelwood with the ball 50 overs old. I think we may need to revise the 'ball won't reverse much today's thought.

So is there any chance of KG escaping a ban? That will suck so much for the series if not. Partic if goes 1-1 and set up for a classic. He's got some kind of attitude/anger problem he needs to address. I guess he's pretty young, will mature I'm sure.

I'm not even there and I know that's a load of horsesh*t

The band has never not played during the delivery stride

SA preferably like to bat once too so very much making Australia toil for as long as possible. The pitch does lend to the grind the drier and drier it gets.

I do think too much is being made of the scoring rate. This is test cricket.

Australia are bowling well
Reversing both ways
Spinning but slowly when Lyon was on
Pitch isn't quick
Tough to time the ball down the ground
