Sounds like an innings from Santner so far that is in some ways more impressive than the other night. Good on him.
When you think of Santner as a bowler who can provide some handy runs and possibly a bit of an insurance policy at 8 he suddenly seems like a pretty damn good cricketer. As an "all-rounder who can't bat", not so much.
Agree he's an insurance policy, though tbh it's an insurance policy that is only going to kick in when the batting completely fails, to move the situation from 'lose' to 'post something more respectable but almost certainly still lose'.

Pretty disappointed in the CDG run-out - his time at the crease was fun and there was even a small chance it could have rescued the innings.

After the Southee-Boult-Henry school of tailend batting Ferguson is quite the throwback.

Good time for Ferguson to sacrifice his wicket and bring the mighty Trenty to the crease for a nine-ball cameo.

That was a pretty pathetic attempt at batting and running by NZ, especially with how awful England's bowling. The tail did semi-decent though.

Where dem Santner haterz at

His ltd overs place has never been in question as hes a good odi/t20 bowler, great to see him finally prove he can bat a bit too.

Still an awful test selection though. Its like opening with guptill in test but worse.
