***Official*** England in New Zealand 2018

Predictions of Chapman not liking it short, fast or a combination of the two seem to have been accurate. I'm not panicking but getting repeatedly done for pace by Woakes is a bit of a worry. Hopefully just a matter of adjusting from the dissonance of "slower than they look" 128kph bowlers to "faster than they look" 138kph bowlers.

Oh this has already started. Disappointing Chapman out early - think it's quite noticeable he uses a long handle and big backlift to try to hit the short ball, which even with his #FastHands is probably not going to be quick enough against international fast bowlers. Might need to reign that in a bit.

Guptill on for a big one today.

guptill needs to develop a down the ground game against the spinners. Seems to rely on the slog sweep a bit much.

oh nu. we've forgotten how to bat when munro doesn't get us off to 100 of 10

I'm only reading the cricinfo commentary but it sounds as though Rashid is being economical despite bowling just as many boundary balls as he normally does

NZ gotta somehow get at least 260. With England's lineup, anything less is going to be an absolute walk in the park for them. In game 1 they batted like crap overall and still got 285 without breaking a sweat...

This innings has made zero sense. It’s like the came out thinking 180 was a good score....

Right, only chance now is that De Grandhomme keeps with this breezy hit-everything approach and somehow rides his luck to 120.
