He has such a baby face, it's hard to believe he sledges lol.

Wonder whether Kohli has any demerit points, not sure how he gets away with it.

I know we legit lost the Test series, but if we can close out the ODIs 5-1, there's a genuine case for us being the happier of the two teams. 1-2, 5-1 is a good return considering our travelling history.
This test series loss will continue to hurt. Especially because we may have actually won it if Kohli picked the right teams.

I doubt it. The JAMODIs don't really matter IMO. They did play really well in the series and made it fun to watch. If it wasn't for the stupid kohli/shastri duo messing up the selections India may well have won this 2-1. Having said that India would still come out less happy of the two since the test series is lost and the ODIs just don't make up for it.

Someone please give Rabada a tutorial in narrowly skirting the sledging rules so he doesn't constantly get banned. Everyone else in world cricket knows to point fingers at the crowd rather than pavilion and that you can swear anywhere other than right at the batsman.

Amateur stuff from him.

But did he really deserve any attention for what he did in the last game? I don't think so.

If Rabada got caught out for that, then Kohli deserves demerit points every time every time he steps foot on the field. I don't object to the system, just hate how some players get far more leniency than others.

Well India have managed to lose last 3 of the 4 test series in SA from almost winning position

India was effectively 131/2 in 2nd inning of 3rd decider test and our batting collapsed
3rd Test, India tour of South Africa at Cape Town, Jan 2-6 2007 | Match Summary | ESPNCricinfo

SA were 128/6 in 2nd inning of 3rd decider test and yet they managed to draw the test
3rd Test, India tour of South Africa at Cape Town, Jan 2-6 2011 | Match Summary | ESPNCricinfo

India lack the killer instinct to win test series in AUS and SA IMO.

First of all don't be a SA player... ideally need to be Aussie, but and Indian or Englishman is just as ok. If you can't get that right then, you board is not gonna have enough influence to really protect you from these indiscretions.

Rabada needs to start swearing in his home language (Sesotho?). That way none of the match officials will know what he's saying.

Enjoyed this article....

Throughout the recently-completed Test series between the two countries, I listened in as the Indian media shared their thoughts on their national captain.

A few are star-struck, but the hardened journalists were anything but. Kohli, they said, put his own agenda before the team’s and the fact that he had selected Rohit Sharma instead of Ajinkya Rahane for the first two Tests proved as much. There is a conspiracy theory among the Indian journalists that fingers Kohli as being threatened by Rahane. Our friends from the sub-continent obviously know more about their own team than we do, but it was immediately hard to believe that a man of Kohli’s abundant talent would be threatened by anyone.

The Indian media may be undecided on Kohli’s leadership credentials, but the South African cricket public has had no trouble voicing its collective opinion.

All summer, South Africans have hurled abuse Kohli’s way.
he game's biggest characters have always had their detractors, with the line between confidence and arrogance often blurred.

Kevin Pietersen, Shane Warne, Glenn McGrath, Chris Gayle ... all have been on top of the world and all have experienced the wrath, for different reasons, of cricket lovers who lash out.

Former Proteas captain Graeme Smith was another who had his critics, with many accusing him of "arrogance". Perhaps it is just the South African way. Perhaps we have a problem celebrating success when it is not our own. Smith would finish as the most successful captain this country has ever seen, yet for some reason that was not enough for certain students of the game.

"There’s just something about him." Grow up.

The two things that all of the above-mentioned players had in common is that they were uniquely talented and they had a burning desire to win cricket matches. Kohli, quite obviously, is cut from the same cloth. You don't have to like his leadership style and you don't have to like the player, but what you can never do is criticise his passion for the game, his talent and his ability to keep fighting when the chips are down. Those, in any sport, are traits worth celebrating.

This summer, Kohli has given us a performance that we should be remembering for years to come, and for the right reasons. He has arrived on foreign soil and has turned South Africa into his very own stomping ground. There have been few, if any, visiting captains who have made such an impact.

It's been a pleasure to watch.

Yes but the mods here don't lack killer instinct in banning people though.

I would excuse 2011 because we ran into the wall named Kallis. 2007 decider test however was a bizzare way to lose the test.

2011 was worse. Kallis' marathon would have been in vain but they ****ing spread the field to Boucher as soon as he hit one ****ing boundary even though Bhajji was getting the ball to explode off the pitch. Pathetic cowardly **** from both Harbhajan and Dhoni. Let SA off the hook massively.
