Markram fit; Bavuma broken finger, Morris on paternity leave. So only question for SA is deBruyn or Maharaj? Do we need Maharaj at Wanderers?
Faf said Phehlukwayo is also in the mix if they drop Maharaj. Think they will going by the forecast.

Spinners hardly ever do much at Wanderers and looks like cloudy weather around for test. I would go with theunis.

My office is about 5 km from the Wanderers, and while it is a bit overcast sun is breaking through. Pretty sure we'll start on time. And I reckon I'd bowl.

Would be surprised if they play Phehlukwayo; If we need a stock/holding bowler Maharaj is a better option. I would go Theunis at the moment. Indian team selection is gonna be more interesting.

Think that forecast is lots of thunder showers during the test rather than persistent rain. Hopefully that is true and we don't get to many interruptions.

I think the comment about Phehlukwayo was more in a response to a question e.g. something along the lines of "Would you pick him instead of Maharaj?", to which Faf would have given a non-committal answer saying that it's a possibility. So that doesn't necessarily mean that they're seriously considering it.

Phehlukwayo in. That I'm afraid to say is pure politics. No reason to pick him over Maharaj, will be interesting to see how much he bowls.

Which makes no sense. They're on target with the number of black players this season and they've already got two with Rabada and Ngidi. They are over quota with the number of white players, but picking Phehlukwayo ahead of Maharaj doesn't change that.
