***Official*** India in South Africa 2017/18

This is where that extra yard of pace and bounce becomes important. Never 'in' on this pitch but need to be able to unsettle the good batsmen that get settled.... don't see any of that from Indian bowlers yet.

Stating the obvious, still only 120 odd runs, but anything over 200 with the SA attack is competitive, over 250 pushing 300 becomes problems for India... 350 is well....
Yes that’s the thing with this SA attack, it means you can generally be a hundred runs light but still be in a good position.

That’s what I was thinking about at lunch seeing that Faf and AB looked set and if they can start again in this session, how are India going to get the breakthrough and who is going to step up? I have been quite impressed with the improved control of HP and Bumrah so far this session, albeit early days. Got to try and build some pressure, not easy against these two mind.

Ah, that's a bit loose.

Good first pole in Test cricket to get, though.

EDIT: Might be worth watching this whole SA innings and that moment in particular as a data point in the "how useful are 50s?" debate here

Massive moment and India right back in the game. It was very difficult for AB and Faf to recover from 12/3 and not sure if the next 5 are good enough to do that all over again

Well done Bumrah! :)

AB WAG though.. he's done his job here and put India on the backfoot after that terrific start.

Lol Bumrah's done it but tbf to him he was being more patient and accurate this session.

Possibly took things a bit for granted with that shot.

And the run scoring as well. Take away scoring option and you almost always get a wicket

If Ash doesn't get a wicket in this innings, he'll probably not get many over the next few tests.

Have to admit that this 34 overs has been better and more entertaining than the entire Ashes for me. But maybe that just because I`m a saffa....

Vern to chip in with some dirty runs on his home ground to keep getting that batting average further away from his bowling one.
