Excellent session and while the last hour or so belonged to South Africa, 3 wickets for India means it's a shared session

I think the advantage is still with india, "only" two wickets to get and their are into the extended tail.

A wonderful effort so far from AB and Faf, two different strategies early in their innings, Faf looked determined, only played at what he had to and just looked to dig in when conditions were tough for batting. AB predictably fought fire with fire and counter-attached with a very high level of skill. Both are now jumping on anything slightly off line or length.
As for India, Bhuvi was superb first up getting the ball to go like leg breaks and was rewarded for his areas with the three wickets. Since then I don’t think India have bowled quite as badly as some are suggesting on here, they have overpitched at times but the two batsmen have put virtually everything loose away and put real pressure back on the bowlers.
I agree that Kohli should probably have shuffled his pack a bit better than he did in that opening session.

Seems definitely a case on here though of a player’s standing in the game (Ishant in this case) improving immeasurably by not playing! It may be that he’s unlucky to be left out, I’m not entirely sure he’d necessarily done a much better job than those currently trying.

Nah, I must say I really wanted us to bowl to see Steyn back into action...
But then again its good to have AB back, QdK is going to murder this attack if they keep bowling like this.

No one is complaining about Ishant. The complaints are about Rahane, Umesh and to an extent Rahul. India should have played 6 batsmen with an attack of Bhuvi-Shami-Umesh-Ashwin.

QDK forms is a little of a concern..... but maybe he can get back into form, like he started his ODI career against India.

And that's why Batting first was not the disaster it was made out to be. Faf knew that..he hoped the openers would be able to see off the new ball..didn't work.

I don't think the pitch has changed that much... ball a touch older, secondary bowlers not that great.
