Starc is starting to reach the point of being criminally under-rated on this forum. All the same criticisms of him were levelled at Akram, especially by the ****ing English when playing in England. "Oh he's erratic, he'll never do well in England!" Goes forth to take some wickets anyway. "Yeah but they were all tail-enders!" So he takes some top-order poles. "Yeah but he only took those because there was a straight guy (Waqar and Aaqib) at the other end!" The whinging is incredible.
Know what he averaged in England? 28 over four series', only one of which did he take any 5-fers. Starc averages 31. It's definitely closer than I thought.
Examine your bias', ffs. I'm no great fan of Starc, personally, but so many of ya don't get what to value in a quick bowler, especially in a leftie who's generally going balls-out for wickets. For me he also beats Morkel anywhere but that's at least arguable.

No argument with this but Starc's closer in England to making the England Test side as 3rd quick than Anderson is to the Aussie side in Oz. 4 series' in and Anderson has only just began to repair his bowling average for being too close to 40 for a guy with his rep.Starc would only make the England attack because none of their 3rd seamers can hold down a spot. He wouldn't be within a whisper of challenging Anderson or Broad for their spots. You don't drop guys who average low-20s at home for literally anyone.
This is for much the same reason why many Australians would struggle to pick Anderson in an Australian side. Your bowlers are honed to your own conditions and it's hard to justify picking another bowler unless they have a history of doing really well in that country.
