***Official*** Sri Lanka in India 2017

Mr. Glass
Should always have fielders at short mid off and mid on so that they can never see the foot when they check for the noball IMO

Make these lazy umpires do their job
Should set the field that way in tests when Ishant bowl at least.

I feel like there's been a lot less rechecking of the front foot in the last year or so; before then it was ridiculous. That might just be current series bias though.
I'd agree with this. Have noticed at least three missed no-balls during the Ashes though. Not small ones either.

Yeah I feel I've spotted a few ones they've missed too. It's always hard to judge these things on replay though, with a camera that is panning quickly and replayed at a speed that you can't tell if the foot's slid of not.

Thirimanne is poo

At least Tharanga has some history of reasonable success in ODIs.
Yeah Tharanga isn't that bad, but he's not far enough above mediocrity for the pairing of the two to be anything but deeply mediocre

Let this be Dinesh Karthik's last International match. Manish hasn't done much after that knock in Australia. Shreyas is not finished product yet. Seems like we have to bring back Yuvraj for the WC unless we go ahead with the lineup I've been suggesting for ages (Shikhar-Rahul-Rohit-Kohli-Dhoni-Kedar-Hardik)

convincing win for Sri Lanka, well done boys- excellent all round performance..one more would be great..only just realised that Dickwella is only 24? the guys shows a lot of maturity for someone so young..

Steady on, he's the only reason they haven't gotten a total which would have seen them being the source of many a joke around these parts for several years.
Should have gone into power hitting zone to aim for 350. Anything below that is not defendable in ODIs.

A welcome win for Sri Lanka in ODIs after 12 straight losses and this was a pasting.

Yes, there are no problems with Dhoni coming in to bat at number 6/7. How could there possibly be a problem? Because one side exaggerates and the other side underplays, how could there be a problem? I dare you to come up with a reasonable problem, mother****er. I double dare you.

Why? This has been a consistent line of thinking on Dhoni across all quarters for a while now. Surely a solitary 50 against lowly ranked Sri Lanka has not changed everyone's minds?
Dhoni is not one of India's ODI problems. Their problem is the middle-order where none of Manish, Rahul, Karthik, Shreyas have found their feet. Dhoni can easily replace any of them at no. 4 even if he retires from wicketkeeping tomorrow.

I was particularly surprised by your 'Anything below 350 isn't defendable in ODIs' comment. I mean, seriously? Did you follow SL batting in the SL-Pak ODI series before this? I'd have backed India to defend anything above 200 on this pitch.

I know. And I'm not suggesting Dhoni's finishing skills are as before. But he's easily a better no. 4/5 than the other contenders. That's why I'd play him at no. 5.
Yeah he's not the finisher India requires anymore. That's all. He could have done what he did today from number 4/5 as well.

He tried to move up to no. 4/5 during the late stages of his captaincy. Kedar-Hardik will be a good combination at 6-7. But the huge cricket mind of Ravi Shastri has now decided to keep him at no. 6 it seems.
