We could also look at that T20 v SL last year? And the first Test as examples I guess. Conditions were tough in both and they struggled.

Shreyas looking like a prank batsman on ODI debut really says nothing about how Kohli, Vijay, Rahane or Pujara will do in a different format on a different continent.

I feel like there's been a lot less rechecking of the front foot in the last year or so; before then it was ridiculous. That might just be current series bias though.
