Think Root is trying to not be reliant on Anderson and Broad which is understandable to an extent, but they only bowled 4 over spells before the Lunch break and it was a crucial stage of the game.

Yeah, don't give them long spells, but three overs each would have been handy. And certainly wouldn't have let Australia get so close to parity already.
