Australian Domestic Season 2017/18

Good to hear that Bird bowled well. What happened to Behrendorff? Smith is worryingly out of touch. Renshaw too. Both were immense in India though and should be retained.

Good to see Copes doing the Copes thing and running through sides. Uzi is in fine form.

I too believe that Smith should be retained.

Yes, I think this could be second year blues for Renshaw. I'd also be very surprised if Maxwell lasts the summer in the test team. Still, an insipid line up competing against the incumbents (batting and keeping).

I would be very surprised to see Maxwell last the full summer too.

I have gone full circle on Nev btw. I am actually hoping he tons up today with Wade only making 1.

Ben McDermott at 7 is the wrong decision and has only happened because of Wade's move to Tasmania.

In the very last game of last season McDermott at 5 made a ton, I can't remember when Wade last did? Also, while I want Webster to do well, McDermott was picked in the one dayers and Webster obviously wasn't picked for Tassie. Also, when you consider that Webster is the main spin bowler, picking a specialist bat at 7 seems wrong. I hope the tail sticks around.

EDIT - check out Handscomb's catch at first slip to dismiss Khawaja.

Wade's had a hilarious record in the shield ever since he moved himself above 6

i turned on to watch this good catch NUFAN won't shut up about and instead saw Arun Finch pulling a ball miles outside and miles above his shoulders to Officer Luke Feldman at midwicket who took the best catch I've seen all day

I've just been catching up with some of the dismissals:

Stoinis : dire pull shot right at easy catching height straight to midwicket.
MMarsh: Caught driving a ball which I'm 99.94% certain was Bird's plan
Wade: Got squared up edging behind. I have to say though, from the behind the batsman view that we got, it looked like a good delivery from Mackin.
Nevill: Has a weakness on leg stump. Out LBW which we all saw happen a few times in his Test Career.
Maddinson: Out leaving a ball which showed his poor judgement.
Hughes: Great catch from Ferguson. Probably lost concentration with Head at the crease.
Maxwell: Looks to have gotten a good nut from Doggett, clean bowled.

To be fair, even though Maddinson is truly the worst thing ever. Worrall decked that one back in from goddamn Timbuktu.

Never let a good bit of bowling disturb the narrative.

Speaking of, the Redbacks getting fired on day 1 and not conceding by stumps is a development I'm still unused to. NSW could even be said to be bleeding for a wicket, at present. SA openers getting through the night session quite well, really.

gotta suck for these guys to fail on a Saturday night and then still not be allowed to go out on the town

It is an excellent match, that in Adelaide. Ebbing and flowing which is the type of cricket I like,

Jack Wildermouth is the real deal as an all rounder isn't he? He's better with the ball than the bat but he's still scored good runs at times.
