And this is why Pattinson was always up against it to play. The bodies of the rest have stabilised, niggles aside. His hasn't. Sad but until it does, he should be outside reckoning for the forseeable.
He's actually gotten fit enough and good enough to play several times over the last few years but just hasn't been able to break into the side past the incumbents.

It's a combination of that and his chronic injuries that make it look like he's unlikely to play much even when he does get fit enough.

The thing about the pool deck is that it takes up a lot more room for the same number of people than seats. That helps to hide the fact that attendance at the Gabba is always ****.

Whatever it takes!!!
Didn't Pattinson give up on his remodelled action in the middle of a test and just go "**** it, I am gonna bowl the way I did when I used to be somewhat good"? Has anyone mentioned that as a reason for his injury yet?

They've actually said that Pattinson's past injuries have caused him to put too much stress on a single part of his back and that's what's caused the stress fracture.

Remodeling of actions have almost always been followed by bad things.
Reminds me of Marchant de Lange, when I first saw him he was bowling 150kmh+ with an explosive, javelin style bowling action. When I saw him in county cricket earlier his action was completely different and he was a yard slower.

Bird injured now too.

I made the joke earlier that it's a very real possibility that after all the talk of the "Big-4", Australia could end up going into Brisbane with a fast bowling attack looking something like Chadd Sayers, Joe Mennie and a 45 year old Peter Siddle bowling 115kph

I was there in the rafters last summer thanks, and this slanderous post couldn't be further from the truth. The lowers decks were almost a quarter full last summer during the Pakistan test.

Anyone but Siddle. Pleeeaaaaassseee. But more seriously, Behrendorff should get next go if things get that bad. Worrall too, because of his run and the fact he's an actual swing bowler, which I like.

Just hope we don't have to dig into our third XI. It's better than most countries 3rd XI bowling attacks but going that far means that you're four first-choice seamers down which is ****ed.

EDIT: Although Bird apparently will be fit for the start of the Sheffield Shield, so he still should be fit for the Ashes.

No idea, apparently Cricket Tasmania are hosting a debeaking later to clarify the situation.

I reckon this is the series where he'll establish himself as the next Pidge

Can we stop pecking away with these pathetic jabs at a man who has just been wounded?
