I fear that Pattinson is going to be the unluckiest bowler Australia has ever had. When Australia is at full strength I see him playing shield cricket simply because the other three are the incumbents. Which honestly would be a huge shame. He's a gun bowler and was in the form of his life last season and through the off season.
This is so true. Pattinson could be literally one of the best bowlers ever. He's the best bowler in Australia right now easily for mine. Guy just can't stay fit and he's wasting his best years in the Shield and playing County cricket.

Yeah. Unfortunately he seems the one who can't get a regular stretch of cricket out of the 4. Seems like an injury is around the corner.

Cummins was like that but he seems to have got a long stretch of cricket at the moment and younger which is more positive for him.

Still has some way to go before he can beat Bruce Reid IMO.

Bruce Reid was a gun and ended up with virtually the same stats as Ryan Harris, who was also a gun. I really hope we get to see more of Pattinson than we got to see of those two.

Cummins injury issues were age-related IMO, most fast bowlers have loads of injury problems in their early 20's. It's just that he is so good that he was already a name by the time injury problem started to hit.

Pattinson's injury issues are different. Australia's Shane Bond.

Two of my most favorite Aussie bowlers apart from Warney, those two.
McDermott was always my favourite as a kid growing up, though I loved Reid as well.

Harris is my favourite recently retired player. He was so good and brought out the best in Johnson as well.

I hope he manages more time on the field than Bond did. Not working out that way currently.

When fit I think he's the best of the quartet by a significant distance with the red ball. And, at least maybe because he's a bit of a ****, the scariest too.

I think you're right. It must be so frustrating for Pattinson to have had his career interrupted for so long with injury.

Watching him at AB Oval last summer run through the strong Queensland batting lineup was a sight to behold. He was hitting the pitch so hard and made Tremain look absolutely pedestrian by comparison.

5 games for Notts 32 wickets at 12.06!

Honestly I don't want Pattinson playing white ball cricket. He's not great at it and is much better in the longer form. With his injury history I just want him for tests.

I saw Pattinson this season and he was impressive against us on an April English seamer. Took five wickets including Collingwood's but deserved more. Went up to Colly in an aggressive manner and was subsequently fined by the ECB haha.

Don't think he'll play 100 games in the next eight years. He might break a nail or something.
I really hope you're wrong.

Besides, Patto's played 17 Tests. Bond only played 18 in his whole career. If anything Pattinson's had the better of it. Don't really care how many ODIs or T20s he plays.

Yeah, Bond averaged early 20s regardless of the format that he played. Pattinson isn't as good, either in terms of skill or injury proneness.

It took some doing and a controversial change of captain, but I managed to get it in alphabetical order.

1. Moeen Ali
2. Alastair Cook
3. Alex Hales
4. Liam Livingstone
5. Ben Foakes +
6. Dawid Malan
7. Sam Northeast
8. Ben Stokes
9. Toby Rolan-Jones
10. Chris Woakes
11. Mark Wood
Disappointing that no one has called Howe out over this act of egregious vandalism to the concept of "alphabetical order"

Still, at least he isn't, like, a teacher or something, so I guess it's OK.
