Hope wasn't playing for it keeping low, imo it didn't cut back in as much as he thought it did.
I agree he wasn't playing for it keeping low, he was beaten by the extra pace and I just think as he was walking back to the pavilion he would have thought that it stayed a little low. I might be wrong, just what I thought.

That Wahab catch was sensational but overall a very decent fightback by the Windies.

windies tail has showed gusto lately and i appreciate that

sides that are legitimately awful often fold down low easily

Man I really wanted the two WI debutants to show up. Hopefully next innings.

How was Abbas? Only caught a bit of his opening spell.

Khan always looks so chill and sporty on a cricket pitch. Makes it hard to believe that he might say something like that off of it.

Its a tough one with him really. To say he is an out and out berk is lazy, does plenty of charity work etc and there is plenty of egos in Pakistan cricket.

However as a captain previously he did inspire the infamous oath gate saga in 2010 in Australia. He also pulled numerous strops when he was dropped fairly btw in ODI cricket. He threatened to retire from test cricket as a protest a few years ago. His ODI record is awful and lets not forget he would have played a vast amount of ODI cricket on roads.

Many including me were surprised how he retired a few weeks ago, no drama whatsoever. I suppose we should have known their may be a sting in the tail!

I watched the small segment of play; hard to think of a more technically impressive No. 8 than Holder, even looked assured against the new ball.

Amir seems to be finally getting batting to the pace and swing he had in 09/10; still has a tendency to bowl too short.

Also on Day 1, noticed Yasir Shah still bowling round the wicket to left-ganders. Admittedly should've had him caught in the deep but he really overdoes that tactic imo.

By modern Windies standards pitch looks fairly pacy; could see Gabriel causing a bit of havoc here.

I wonder what tastes better to Amir, 5 wickets or 5 million rupees in paper bags.

Hope Joseph does well today. Gabriel-Joseph-Holder-Bishoo has the potential to be a seriously good attack.
You really think so? While I think Gabriel and Joseph are decent bowlers atm and have potential, Holder's not got a great ceiling and Bishoo's always been inconsistent.
