***Official*** Pakistan in West Indies 2017

It was good of the Pakistanis to collapse like that. Allowed their bowlers to get some more practice.

I wonder if Shah's going to find some form since his pathetic showing over here. You'd think the WI pitches would suit his style more.

Well our test squad has been selected as seen HERE

Brathwaite, Powell, Hetmyer, Hope, Singh, Blackwood, Chase, Dowrich (wk), Holder (c), Bishoo, Gabriel, Joseph, Cummins

A lot of our fans are happy with this squad tbh. It's a young group no doubt but it's packed with a lot of potential. The warm-up game was a draw after we bowled out Pakistan for 192. Powell then went on to make 80 odd and we were over 300 ahead by the time the draw was called. Must say Pakistan looked very under par in this game but no doubt they'll come out firing on Friday.

Gonna need Singh to provide that glue in the middle order of which others can build around. And if Hetty starts then there could be some fireworks in these games that's for sure. Want to see Joseph and Hope shine in this series too. Hopefully we start well and build from there...the first innings could be crucial for how we move forward. Get rolled over and it could be tough times ahead.
I like this batting order. Brathwaite, Hope, Singh, and Dowrich are accumulators, while Powell, Hetmyer,Blackwood are those guys whose can turn it up whenever they are on song. Holder needs to be smart with his bowling options and changes, Most likely, he'll use much of the spinner, while giving his faster men shorter spells. Chase, Blackwood and Kraigg can bowl also.

Good to see my fellow countrymen in Singh, Bishoo, and Shimron in the lineup.

Rally, rally round the West Indies. Now and forever. Let this be the start of something great. For the win boys!!!!!

I am a bit hopeful for Windies this series. They were actually competent in the UAE against Pakistan. Here they are at home so have a good chance actually.

Yeah mon, I hope we dominate this test series. Probably will stick around and post a little.I'm very passionate about our FC cricket. My beloved Guyana has won 3 consecutive regional FC titles....the least WI team management could do is call up some of the players in the team. Glad that we have 3 of them in current WI squad....recently, this squad has been Bajan-heavy.

I wish Holder batted further up the order. He's talented with the bat, but is a team-weakening passenger, like Darren Sammy was, if used as a bits-and-pieces bowler.

In all honesty though Bim should have won at least two of the last three titles :D . And they have been producing the best talent for a while but yes it is good to see Hetty and Singh get a chance. Hetty can be anything he wants to be in this game as long as he learns to control his excitement at the crease and be patient. Singh has had a long road to this moment. He struggled to get into the Guyana team for years and then went to English league cricket and scored a record number of runs one season. He's come back and he's really stepped up a level so it's gonna be interesting to see how he fares. aswell

His 5fer in the last test was instrumental in getting us the win. He's working with a new bowling coach in Roddy Estwick now so hopefully the 5fer wasn't a fluke and he can start to take wickets regularly at test level now. Otherwise I think Stuart Law won't hesistate in getting rid of him.

So we will most likely get to see all 3 debutants Hetmyer, Singh and Abbas in action today since Pakistan is bowling. Haven't seen any of them in action, gutted that Blackwood has been dropped, despite his mediocre record.

That's a dream start from Abbas. Terrific bowling, Brathwaite's Test (so far) not quite as good as his last.

I am curious to know how people view Kieran Powell because I totally understand why he averages what he does and I can also understand why the selectors would go back to him. I find him enjoyable to watch mainly due to the fact that he plays so upright and his movements are very precise. Apart from that little shuffle while the bowler is coming in his footwork is minimal which makes him a big LBW, bowled and edged behind candidate. The other reason why I think he averages under 30 with the bat is because I feel as though he only has a few areas where he can actually score runs. Basically, he is easy to set a field to.

Amir gets Hope. Another ball which was just too good for the batsman. I think both batsman have thought that the ball kept low but they've been beaten by pace more than anything.

Hope wasn't playing for it keeping low, imo it didn't cut back in as much as he thought it did.

I'm quite happy to see a proper partnership building up here.

I can't see I have too many expectations, but a fairly decent first innings total would make this a good Test to watch.
