Norwood's on Fire
Yeah i mean its 'only' 20 years, so there would be someone historically, but currently don't think there's anyone else. Been like 16 relegation battles with the odd playoff run though.
We were presumably one of the longest until we went down (one year behind you at the time).

Even if you include the prem I reckon you've only got Liverpool, Everton, Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea and spurs who've been in that longer then you've been L1. Probably forgetting someone obvious

Edit - presume you aren't counting conference (and nor should you). If you do I think forest green might be in with a shout

Edit 2 - just checked the top four divisions and reckon that's definitely correct

20 years is pretty unusual. Ipswich had a pretty long run in the Championship but most of the old Premier League sides that have never returned have found themselves in league one at some point.

I was going to contest that as in my mind 2001/2002 is actually still quite recent. Then I realised it's actually not. Sad times.

Tangentially related, but if Huddersfield go up it'll be their first season in the top flight since 71/72. 46 years between visits must be close to a record.

So sad that we qualify as both an old Premier League side and a ****** been in league one for 20 years side. Missed out on those sweet sky pounds.

Tottenham has been such a joy to watch this season, particularly since 2017 began. Before the season started I had $50 on Chelsea at $6.50 to win the title so I stand to win $325 but I am a bit torn despite it looking like it is a win-win.

I'm curious to know at what dollar value would you rather win your bet over seeing your team win the title in this type of scenario? I guess for the lower league guys the money would be lower as you could gain promotion.

Would be crazy high for me tbh. Certainly wouldn't care if a bet of a few hundred that was set to come through for a thousand failed because Arsenal won the league and would be absolutely chuffed despite the financial loss.

Speaking of Wembley trips, got my first one on Sunday. We've won our last six at Wembley, none of which I went to, so we can all guess what's going to happen with the seventh. Tbf it probably has more to do with Arsenal being seemingly incapable of beating professional football teams other than West Ham, rather than me being there.

Would love to see Wenger win something, so would take a high price to prize me away from that. Not so hugely bothered about Arsenal on the whole though.

There was a bloke on TALKSPORT a while ago who bets against his own team every match to soften the blow of his team losing.
Yeah I knew plenty of people loaded up on Trump who were disgusted by him also.

"Interesting" team line up from Jose, lets see how it works out.

This is good, if Chelsea win today we would be going into the last few weeks with the league almost wrapped up and the top 4 places virtually sealed as well and relegation looks like either Hull or Swansea to join the north east pair. Not exactly much to get excited about. Not even a race for the last european slot as Arsenal look to just about be secure for 7th.
