I know I'm late here, but just wanted to say well done to Australia. When I checked the scores at lunch (my lunch, not lunch in the match) I was genuinely expecting to see Australia all out for 130-odd. Well done especially to Handscomb for standing up after an underwhelming tour so far. Well done Marsh also.
Yeah but it was not far off being a road. It's not like they survived 90 overs on a spitting dustbowl.

What a ****. Work on your runs, asshole.
I mentioned earlier that people will think something like that about Pujara. When you run out of time to win a game and a guy batted 500 balls in an innings it's not surprising that people are pointing fingers. But for Kohli to do it when he's done nothing all serious except tell outrageous stories and make himself look like an idiot is rich. I'd suggest Kohli settle down and try to learn from Pujara how to bat in Test matches.

edit: I really love Kohli's attitude though. He just needs to cut back a bit on saying really stupid ****.

It wasn't a spitting hell pitch but this was a tailor made situation for a classic collapse and it was well on when Renners and Smith got out

I think it's fair to say they are. India seem far too reliant on sub-continental conditions.
Given that Kohli's team has never played in any real non-sub-continental conditions apart from WI, I don't understand how it is fair to say that. Let them play outside before that.

exactly, can't really rate them up there with the best when they haven't even played in non-Asian conditions can you?

Yeah I was going to say, it's taken two days but now I'm 100% sure

Kohli grabbing his shoulder after Warner's dismissal has to be one of the most brainless things done on a cricket field that didn't have Kumar Dharmasena on it. Really needs Ashwin to think for him before he does things.

When people make such bold comments about the pitch do they stop to think about the variables of players individuals performances

Great outcome for Aus. Was a bit worried when Renshaw and Smith were grinding it out because 1 wicket coulda have meant disaster. And it nearly was when both fell quickly and Aus were still behind after battling for so long. Finally Handscomb delivered the 50 he had in him, in a difficult situation, that cements his place..he's looked decent all tour..except for a few bad shot selections. It was great to see him ready to dig in and grind it out with Asian Jedi Marsh.

I don't really think either side left this game with any "momentum" tbh. So the 4th test should be a real cracker.

What a series it has been thus far!

I'd be tempted to fly Patto over as cover for the fourth test, though I don't expect the wicket to be that conducive to quick bowling. It would be good if Victoria don't have him for the Shield final though.

I did think that a few people would have tried playing devil's advocate by saying that Pujara should have scored quicker to give us more time today when it seemed like Australia would save the match. :P

Yessss. Felt like doing the injury one again but this was more realistic. Did anyone listen to RS spit some bars though, what a man.

These are the type of pitches that will kill test cricket. Last pitch produced exciting cricket, only die hards would have enjoyed this.
I'm not die hard and I fully enjoyed this pitch. Wham Bam result orientated cricket is boring. This was bite-your-nails for 5 days. Australia's first innings was gripping. Every wicket or run was precious as it became apparent that only a huge score was going to win this match and both were difficult to create. When India batted, they HAD to get past Australia's score, and then keep going to create a winning position. Pujara was like watching a man battle his way up a mountain, but he keeps taking one more step until he gets there. While wickets weren't taken, the gripping part became dot balls and while runs weren't freely flowing the enjoyment of each drip was much more satisfying than 'slamming down a Solo'. 'Exciting' is not the be all and end all in cricket. There is also 'gripping'. For me, this was the best test of the three.
