Not saying they should have ran through them. Just saying they should have created more chances that's all. It's pitches like that that tell us who the world class seamers are..I'm sure SA or even NZ's attack would have created more problems tbh.
So you don't rate Hazlewood (ranked 3rd best bowler behind Jadeja and Ashwin) or Cummins (who was bouncing guys out on the slowest, flattest track imaginable)?

I think Steyn is an ATG and if fit the best quick in the world, but I'm not sure that even he could have done much better on this surface. Philander would have gotten injured right before the match when he saw the track. I think Rabada is a poor man's Cummins (though he's really good too).

A fully fit Pattinson would have been very very handy on this surface, which I think would have aided a skidder type of bowler more than it did Cummins naturally.

Rabada is not a poor man's anything. That is just daft
Well I don't think he's the finished product quite yet. His bowling was flattered in Australia by the pitches we rolled out for SA. Admittedly I'm only judging him on those three tests. I'm sure he has more to come. Cummins is magical and a special talent and I think is closer to being able to perform anywhere. His four wicket haul on this wicket was incredible.

I counter that by saying Rabada took 5 wickets on a flat Perth wicket with a main bowler short practically the whole game.

Cummins is a poor mans Andre Nel

Nah Rabada is quality. They both are.Next couple of years are going to be awesome for quick bowling with the Aussie quicks + Rabada and Joseph running around.

Calling Rabada a poor man's Cummins is just bizarre given how different they are as bowlers. I would take Cummins if I can guarantee they are both fit, however with Pat you can't guarantee that at all - so I'd take Rabada who is something of an iron man.

These are the type of pitches that will kill test cricket. Last pitch produced exciting cricket, only die hards would have enjoyed this.

Good on Aus for grinding out results. Really showing development as a team, and they've found some super young players

SA/Aus stand alone as best two test teams in the world with India a close 3rd (pending a big overseas win). Rest are quite a bit behind with possibly New Zealand 4th.

Well done by the Aussies. This is a decent team. Handscomb adds a lot of (much needed) grit to the middle order. Hopefully with Maxi in the XI, they can go on to get some big scores in times to come.

Props to Wade too. Thought he would fare far worse in his keeping duties. But since his batting isn't helping, it still ends up as a bad selection.

Hope Cummins is fit for the next game! He will like Dharamsala #hype

Are people seeing ATG potential or something in Cummins based on his 2 Tests and handful of FC appearances in 5 years... I mean Rabada has proven far, far more than him and it is nonsensical to call him a poor man's Cummins at this point. He's even younger FFS.
