He's either eligible to play again or he's not. The sort of women who are going to hate on cricket because of it, will do regardless whether he plays in the next month, or overseas in 6 months time. Purposely delaying his selection for the sake of PR (again assuming they think he warrants a place) feels like a concession that NZ cricket aren't really backing him. I get what you're saying that they don't need anyone to know if they've made a point of delaying consideration for a minimum period, I just feel on principle if he's good enough tomorrow, he plays tomorrow.

Thing is not guilty isn't the same as innocent, especially in rape cases which have such a low conviction rate. His own words and description of the case paint him as a scumbag so I have no idea why New Zealand cricket have to staunchly support him.

Being a lecherous knob shouldn't prevent you from playing international cricket. If this disqualified you, we would have missed out on a number of great players (Warne, Gayle etc.)

To be honest nobody is entitled to anything in life.... many people have lost jobs or not been given opportunity for behaviour in personal life regardless of their work ethic/productiveness. Not saying whether that is right or wrong... just reality of life.

Warne can be taken out of the equation tbh, he was murdered in 07 as part of a conspiracy to let Liquid Warne (Post-retirement Warne) take over. Still up for debate whether he's a deep government plant to poison cricket from within over time and eventually rid us of all former remnants of British influence on our society, or an alien, likely of the reptilian variety who has taken Warne's skin which has been rotting over time. Why do you think he's going for so much botox after all? Without it his skin will disintegrate. Why do you think he knows so little about cricket, maybe because his DNA is silicon and his blood cold? And why do you think he shills for legspin so much over accomplished off-spinners? The answer is obvious, only an alien with no knowledge of cricket would ever advocate having a legpsinner in a test side in the modern game. Waste of a spot and only an alien would be stupid enough to think otherwise.

I agree about entitlement from the standpoint that nobody is by right owed a living, but one great thing about a non-corrupt democracy like New Zealand, is employees generally do get as fair an opportunity based on merit as the next guy, provided of course personal behaviours aren't out of control Jesse Ryder stylez.

He would be my choice regardless. Boult, Southee and Kuggs would make for an excellent attack, especially seeing as Kuggs is more than a handy enough batsman. Throw in Sodhi or Santner as the spinner and that's a good looking team
