Yeah Aus's home ODI record is fantastic, by far the most consistent team at home in ODIs. Think they've lost maybe 1 or 2 ODI matches at home in the last 3-4 years, and that's including a WC.

I think in their last 37 home ODIs they've lost just 3 and 1 N/R

True...

Although this team has a substantial difference in composition.
The ODI side is not very good, don't let a beatdown of an even more useless West Indies ODI side con you into thinking they are any cop at 50 overs cricket.

Its very lazy they have given Hafeez the captaincy, Wasim who has been one of the few bright spots in this side over the last year who has captaincy experience and is much younger should have had a look.

It is a very irresponsible and useless statement from him. Does it mean that Australia who have been whitewashed by a young team in Sri Lanka, in India and even in the UAE by Pakistan should not be invited to tour Asian countries," Misbah, who returned home from Australia, said. "I think he should first give some advice to his captain Steve Smith on how to avoid whitewashes in Asia and then worry about us.
Nice

So hard to see an exciting game sadly.

Pakistan caught Australia off their game and still got annihilated. This could get very ugly if Aust actually bat anywhere near their potential.

See, I'm not getting all this 'got-ya' excitement around Misbah's comment considering Chappell's been very critical of Australia's inability to perform in the SC recently, which makes that response kind of irrelevant.

Seems he's just overly sensitive to some fair criticism from Chappell, Pakistan have been abysmal in their last 6-7 tests, there's really no hiding from it, & deflection doesn't cover the holes unfortunately.

Chappell is a sad old git. Using his logic,

Australia got annihilated by Sri Lanka? Australia should not be allowed to tour Sri Lanka anymore as they stink too badly. England should have probably lost their test status during the 1990s. In fact both countries, Oz and England, should have lost their test status during the '80s when they were suffering back-to-back 'blackwashes' and playing some shockingly awful cricket.

Using Ian Chappell logic.

Probably fair enough on that one point. I did read a very scathing article from him about Aust in the SC recently, & he was incredibly critical except for not quite going that far to suggest they shouldn't tour, more that they practice and prepare properly.

FWIW I don't think the West Indies ever whitewashed us. Best they did was 3-0 IIRC.

Yes but Australia were fairly shocking. They may as well have been blackwashed. The point is you cannot just not host teams or strip them of their status because they're going through a piss poor spell. You have to allow teams to be bad so to speak. Unfortunately it can lead to a dull series for the spectator but that is how things are.

Yeah, Chappell obviously went a little too far with the point about reducing or stopping tours, probably more out of frustration that of all the SC sides Pakistan should be one most suited to Australian conditions.

I think cricket Australia should let in under 12 people in free in this mcg ground, it pointless playing we stadium only 30 percent full up

Slightly off-topic but I'm reading Tendulkar's autobiography and crikey, he loathes the Chappell brothers, not just Greg for his coaching with India, but Ian for criticising Sachin during a slump in form. They, Sachin and Ian, had this really awkward confrontation.

It wasn't the criticism Misbah shot back at. It was the "you've not done well so you don't deserve to tour Australia" sentiment he was responding to. In an international climate where everyone is getting smashed overseas, it came off as extremely dumb. I know Pakistan have been whitewashed in Australia 4 times in a row but that's beside the point that just because they haven't played well they aren't "worthy" of an Australian tour. Pretty ****** thing to say.
