I ****ing hate slow turners. They just lead to boring draws. Teams can easily block out 100s of overs of spin when it is real slow. I would take a vicious ICC reportable turner over that anyday and I think so would England, in the present state of the series. Would give them as good a shot at levelling the series or at least pulling one back as any track other than a 2 day test greentop you get sometimes in England.
Also it essentially eliminates any chance of an Indian loss, No team right now is good enough to take 20 Indian wickets on a slow turner.

Any other of the subcontinental teams could tbh, fatty Herath definitely.

Jennings sounds pretty much the same situation as Kieswetter.

In the end, when there are so many more opportunities to be a professional cricketer in England, with 18 counties, then they will attract a lot of players who have dual passports to play for them.

Yea, particularly with the ties to Durham who were winning titles a few years back and probably the best team to develop quality-wise. Albeit you get royally ****ed over when it comes to England and it's wasn't great for the batting average back then, but you are always facing plenty of good net bowlers.

Yep, he is playing.. KL Rahul opens and Karun Nair in for Rahane. Parthiv probably takes the Saha spot. Buvi in for Shami.

Lots of injury problems for India in recent times. Rahane's been pretty poor with the bat so far in this series but his catching is a crucial asset for India.

Nair deserves another chance to prove his worth after that Kohli mix-up though. Hope he takes it.

Obviously it's not the best of ways, but a break for Rahane is probably not such a bad idea.

Also I'm wondering if it will be a good idea to retain Parthiv as an opener and put Rahul in the middle order.

Plus Kohli said that Rahul has always played as an opener and he will continue to do so.. So not going to happen.

Dhawan, Vijay, Rahane, Ishant, Saha, Aaron

We're halfway to a full XI of injured players.
Vijay is fit. Ishant is getting married. Aaron shouldn't be anywhere near the test squad, let alone XI. And Dhawan is fit, and is a backup to Rahul.
