Cheers. It makes sense in terms of the school holiday stuff although that's really depressing as essentially only thing they'll be exposed to is BBL. Who knows how long test cricket will be free to air. My nephew who I've done my best to get into cricket isn't interested, football (soccer) only for him. Silly English father.
Well it's hardly like the Shield was garnering viewing numbers by the thousand. It really shouldn't affect interest that much really.

haven't checked the dates, but gut feel is that the matador/shield spilt leads to an increase in shield games covering the weekend

brockley

International Captain
After Christmas.
Johann Botha now Australian, but no state wants him.
If he has a good BIg Bash, tho he could be picked for Australia.

Midwinter

State Captain
No Cummins in the shield team.

Is he the new Shaun Tait, a short form of the game specialist ?

Does it seem odd that he would play futures league and not the shield game ?

The Duke's back

So the Vics have put the Croweaters in and Weatherald started with intent 32 of 38 balls.

The old firm Duke and Maxwell on after 12 overs

For the Bluebaggers KPatterson off to a good start against feared debuting opening bowler Forkers Faulkner

good day for nsw then. for once nsw could probably use a bowler at 7 instead of a bat

Good to see Burns and Neville make runs. Hopefully both can string enough performances together to pursue for national selection again. Particularly Neville, who was very unlucky to be dropped.

nev can make all the runs he wants, what he really needs to do is start calling people ****s.

good opportunity to start doing that when forkers faulker comes out to bat tbf

What was he doing ?

It looked like he was ambling down with plenty of time and then stopped and didn't cross the crease.
I think all the confusion was that he seemed to be in. He felt as though he was in his crease comfortable and they weren't quite sure why he was given out

ca twitter account refusing to acknowledge nev's 150. sad!

Gibson was like 2 off 20 or something and has his 50 off 67, so good effort from him. They're both going at a good rate so I'd probably keep on batting. If they get tied down then they can declare

He just wasn't concentrating and turned blind, very poor from a top order batsman.

Nev making runs makes you wonder one of two things: a) is he a great batsman against average attacks, but struggles against better opposition or b) does he perform better with the extra responsibility of being a top 6 bat and if so, why didn't the Aussie team bat him at 6 when M.Marsh was struggling/every innings that Marsh played.
