Interesting to see the difference between Abbott and Mennie. Abbott a shade quicker but not a great deal, yet extracting far more zip and movement. As someone said yesterday, his release is just about perfect, but you wonder why there's such a marked difference in two bowlers of similar pace when one isn't marked taller than the other. Intangible stuff like this is interesting to conjure over imo.

Hitting the seam more often, potentially more (or less) back spin on the ball meaning it does different things when it hits the wicket, hitting dangerous lengths more often makes it appear that it's doing more, more often.
