Adam Voges average watch

SeamUp

International Coach
Down to 64.47

Even if he gets another duck his average will go down to 61.79 which will still be beating Pollock and it will be the last we see of him and will go down in history as one of cricket's finest.

Odds on he plays Adelaide though, considering selectorial silliness. Could drop below 60 is he plays and fails at Adelaide.

Who will they pick to replace him?

They have nobody so will be stuck with picking him hoping he returns to the form of a year or so ago.

I'd give Ferguson a run. Can't do much worse than Voges has recently. If MMarsh comes back for the next test test drop him and keep Ferguson.

Handscomb, Patterson, Lehmann probably the three closest on current form and reputation. Could see them recalling one of the Marshes (though Shaun should surely replace Burns?) or even someone like Stoinis or Cartwright if they want another seam-up option.

Down to 61.87. Still highest since Bradman.

Don't drop him Australia! He's still officially the 2nd best batsman of all-time.

For the label as "one of cricket's finest", there has to be a minimum set of Test matches played. I will need to look up how many you need but I imagine it would need to be at least 20. Voges does not pass.
Oh, I mean one of Test cricket's finest.

Voges has played 20 Tests. Cut his career into quarters, and his average by quarter is:
1st quarter: 40
2nd: 68
3rd: 342
4th: 14.8

I don't want Vogues to retire until his average is down around 45-47 where it should be........would be ****ed if he called it quits now (or gets the arse) and it forever sits north of 60 IMO.

I don't think he's a 45-47 average player tbh. But then again, he was probably picked past his best years to begin with.

Should change the title of the thread to 'Adam Voges career watch.'
Brilliant.

i mean, as bad as Voges dismissal today was, at least he didn't get out LBW to it like Sachin would have
