I think he's actually the first player on either side to play Tests given how the entire Bangladesh side are under 30.
You're right. I wasn't sure though, as it's not too uncommon for Bangladesh to field very young players. Mushfiqur has been around for nearly as long as Batty.

I was just checking out some info on Gareth Batty. And, to my surprise, found out this is his 8th Test. Quite amazing to make a rentree a dozen years after his first stint! He is the first of this England team to play Test Cricket.
It is. I was wondering about Pat Pocock coming back in 1984, but that had only been an eight year gap.

Well he has probably played his first first class game before a few players were even born.
