Tbf, Ross's hundred against Pakistan in 2014 wasn't exactly a technical masterpiece. Was a chancy knock where his fast hands and superb reflexes got him out of trouble on many an occasion. I'm kinda worried that as he works his way into his mid 30's that those gifts are starting to dull.

keep calling him **** please. it increases the chances of him playing a gem. remember the "he's done" posts after brisbane?

my favourite part of that trash indiainfo article was the dates were conveniently chosen to exclude his tons in india and sri lanka so they could say "hurrr hurrr can't play spin LOL"

he's always been inconsistent, it's just more noticeable after having two to three years of kane, baz and watling batting like gods. ross scoring a scratchy 30 (25) with james franklin or daniel flynn at the other end looks a lot better than it does when kane is in the middle and baz is in next.

Just about every Tests side in the world would want Taylor playing for them

Doesn't mean he isn't absolute cobbers from time to time

There's no magic line between useless and great

I could say the same thing about vast majority of YK's centuries. Over the years I have learned that cricketers are often unfairly judged against this objective yardstick - for batsmen it's technique. A very minority of batsmen in the world are as technically correct as Tendulkar. Watch Viv bat and you will see him plonk his left foot out of the way and give it a whack.
You just have to figure out a way to score runs somehow, with or without technique. Taylor has done that for most part. Yes this was a poor series for him and at 35, a bad series is a major concern. But no point talking about his technique or lack there of now.

I wonder how much of a battering his confidence took during the whole captaincy change. I might be totally wrong, but I don't remember the super scratchy starts to his innings before then. Confidence is a funny thing, once it gets a major hit in one area, other parts can start to unravel as well.

Or maybe it's the eyesight. Or motivation ... that would be the most disappointing reason, I don't think it's why myself. If it is then he should have used a 50 average as an incentive. It's been within reach a few times in recent years - after West Indies, after the 290 and he got closest after Zimbabwe. Still within reach if he cashes in against Bangers.

Yeah we'll go with the Ashwin pic more happening in the shot. I was going to go with Starc removing bmac in the Wc final but there aren't many good pictures that show the situation properly

Devcich firing shots at his own team, according to him we only have two world class ODI bats. I wonder who he doesn't rate...
