**Official** England in Bangladesh 2016

I agree with all of that really, but where to you put Duckett?

On Ben BTW, this was a decent first innings of a player who deserved to be picked, and he looked worthy in his latter part of his innings, but if he was an established player striking so low may well have lost us the game.
Its hard to find a place for him isn't it? Root walks straight in at 3 obviously, he is an opener but Roy and Hales have a good partnership going, maybe he and Billings will have to fight for a place lower down the order (being comfortable hitting 360 would make him a good finisher I guess). The batting strength in depth is unbelievable.

Disagree with that as 310 was above par score. His SR was fine at 60/3
We only got 309 due to a brilliant innings from Jos, Stokes came in when the pressure was on but his SR was consistently near a run a ball. As Grecian said it was decent but nothing more, i'm sure he learned a lot and will improve he's a great talent.

Went to bed with Bangladesh paying $1.03

pathetic. Well done England though, never give up against a poop team, they'll always give you a shot.

Fantastic predictive posting from ***** in this thread. Kudos to him.
Yeah he was right on the money for sure.

It did get me wondering though reading ***** posts this morning knowing the result........is it still considered Gambhiring if you end up being right?? I guess not, but if the Bangas had managed to get home we'd be poking and laughing at him right now. I almost wish they did now as it could have been fun :pokey::laugh::pokey:

Are you guys actually surprised by this though? As soon as Bangladesh got into a strong position, you could pretty much guarantee something was going to go wrong.

In a way, I think the Shakib-Kayes partnership was too good for their own good and put them in a position of such strength that it made the typical Bangladesh choke more likely :p

These people dont watch enough BD cricket.

I envy them.

Ultimately anyone who follows BD cricket for a length of time will come to realise that their shortfalls aren't a lack of talent, or a lack of depth outside their top few players, but a lack of basic cricket intelligence and wits under pressure.

And that's what makes it frustrating because most people don't know **** about BD cricket..and the perception is that they just suck..and so you have to argue that no they are actually quality players in there..only for something like this to happen..making it extremely difficult to make your case.

It isn't that Bangladesh suck, just that they get over-hyped on here when they don't deliver enough. Will be a good series though, with both teams missing key players (England probably more so) and obviously first game was tight. Bairstow being out next game hopefully means Billings gets and takes his chance.

Bangladesh should've won, yet at the same time – deserved to lose. These batting collapses especially in the last 10 overs is a joke. England played more intelligently, and fielding was a class apart. The question is will Bangladesh learn by tomorrow? remains to be seen.

Would rather have Plunkett than Willey in these conditions I think. Latter looks a bit pedestrian.

Edit: Can field tbf

With two down England will be happy to sit back and try to make Bangladesh force the pace from here. They'll be happy to chase 270 or so.

Think Bangladesh are up against it.

Bangladesh seem to have slotted someone who averages 70 with the bat in First Class in at number eight in this game, so perhaps being two down early won't reign them in all that much.
