I refuse to acknowledge , what's going on up North (even more than usual that is) as I know from bitter experience it's all just giving me hope before the inevitable let-down.

Anyway decent start in First-class cricket for 18-year old Kiran Carlson 3 matches played, one 5-fer and one 100.

I left work at about 4:15 and turned on the radio, knowing it was the first day, to hear 'Yorkshire have been a bit slower getting through their overs than Somerset' and it took me the majority of the drive home to rationalise that sentence.

Lancashire doing their bit to make sure Yorkshire don't win the tittle. 6-4. Even Hameed getting in on the act with a duck.

Good opportunity for Buttler to blitz a double ton in quick time to get him onto the flight to bangladesh.

Joffrey doing well for Sussex again with the bat. Made some serious contributions since making his debut.

Shame about Roy's fluke-laden century, pretty much every other boundary seemed to be an edge through the slips or chinese cut for a period when I was following it. Durham would be looking great for a win otherwise.

If Jack Leach barely gets to bowl, is it really a good match?

Seems like a really good knock from young Rob Jones in his 3rd FC game, opening and seeing the wickets tumble at the other end. Nice SR too, looks like we could have the great wall of Warrington alongside the great wall of Bolton.

He's bizarrely hit a six to boost his strike rate to just above 30. Look out ABDV.

Lancashire scraping a draw would nicely set up the last round of fixtures. It would be very tough for Yorkshi*e if both they and Lancs lose, as they'd need to make up some bonus points against Middlesex (as well as beat them obviously) which could easily turn into a bit of anti-climax.
