No that's true. When I woke up this morning and saw the score I thought it was the first dig of a test match.

Congrats to England for a brilliant performance, taking nothing away from their performance but this series has once again exposed Pakistan's fragile ODI team.

I agreed with Wasim Akram's anaylsis a couple of days ago when he said Pakistan still have the mindset and play cricket like the 90's, I cannot understand why this is the case. I fail to recall last time Pakistan chased down a total of 300 in ODI’s, we have been struggling to chase totals for at least the last two decades and we are still struggling, now we can’t even set ‘decent’ totals because teams can chase down 350 to 400, which means our batsman are always under pressure either batting first or when chasing.

Man I woke up and saw Pakistan's score of 275 and was like "oh that's respectable in a loss at least", then read "England won by 169 runs" and my eyes almost popped out.

Love this Eng ODI team.

Two teams crashed out of World Cup 2015 looking like they didn't quite belong there. One of them has since then blasted 350+ score 6 times. The other crossed it only once against Zimbabwe.

Yeah and his own thinking is also a product of the 90s. He keeps talking about how openers should try to see off the first 10 overs without losing wickets, how Pak should save wickets till 40th over and then go all out which is basically the template of 92 World Cup, followed to the T in the 99 World Cup under Akram.
He was also against Sarfraz opening in the World Cup 2015 because he didn't have the 'technique' for the 'fast and bouncy' pitches of Australia.

Look I love Wasim more than anyone...but he is not a great analyst of the game, nor is his thinking in line with today's LO cricket. If anything, his thinking reflects the thinking in the Pak think tank as well.

unbelievable to see the SC, un****ingbelievable. How in hell do you end up conceding 445? and then not have the decency to at least come within a 100 runs of that total?

I know it could have all ended at around 200 runs for Pak, but 275 runs scored in 42 overs is a good sign IMO since the main complaints are about their slow scoring 90s style

Yes but the team which has passed 350 six times will stop doing so again when the WC rolls around. That, I imagine, is what annoys their supporters so bloody much.

They've got a good chance this time with the new format excluding minnows

Actually don't think Pak bowled that poorly the batting by England was out of this world they were smashing near perfect Yorkers at 90 mph for boundaries

This pretty much. All the fans and Pak analysts are blaming the bowling. And this is where it gets so frustrating when talking about LO cricket concerning Pakistan. The thinking of pretty much everyone is outdated. 400+ totals are not a rarity anymore. 350 plus totals are regular. 300+ totals is 50-50.

This goes back to the World Cup game against India when the bowlers were blamed despite bowling quite well overall, especially from 40 overs onwards to restrict them to 300. People need to start using the word 'restrict' when you concede 300.

Oh and this match is also a response to those who were questioning Azhar's decision to bat first in the 2nd ODI.

ODIs are a funny format.

Since World Cup 2015, England beat New Zealand, lost to Australia and South Africa of all people.
South Africa who who came third in a triangular series involving West Indies
Australia are clearly the best ODI team in the last 2 years and the only team to have beaten them? - New Zealand.

Don't understand the rationale behind Amir and Wahab playing now. They should have been rested at least once by now, but now they should definitely not play the remaining games. It's not helping their confidence getting smashed around, nor is it helping their fitness. They play all 3 formats and Pakistan have a packed test schedule coming up where you need these two fit.
Gul, Irfan, Hasan are there in the squad. At least be smart about this.

this england team will threaten 500 at some point.

insane power throughout that batting lineup.

the you consider that bairstow can't get in the team and guys like billings and duckett can't even get in the squad. great depth.

I think Nawaz bowled an over where he did nothing wrong on another day it was perfectly decently bowling yet he went for 23 that really summed up the day for me it was insane display of power hitting where the batsmen rarely mishit anything

Amir was bloody handy with the bat before he was banned, after watching that today he can obviously still bat so why the hell is he coming in at 10-11 all the time?
