Shamsi must play all the matches in this series. He should have played the first match too. Even if they select only 2 spinners, taking Shamsi ahead of Phangiso should be a very easy straight-forward decision.
Today Shamsi not impress umpire as many as 4 times while Phangiso bowl wonderful in all matches so far but you see, ABDV considering best batsman in the world struggle with no four in 2 games even he batted 129 minutes in the tour so its nightmare for batting

I hope at st.Kitts Warner park wicket could be batsman Friendly.Does not make sense to plays 3 matches in a row on same track.

maxwell in test ?

Well one can not select test sides with the performances of limited format cricket but I think Kurdish Patterson more deserves to début for Australia than maxi boy.

Well done to the boys. Thought we had a shot but did not expect us to win so convincingly in the end.

Well done Behardien, keeps doing the job, he looks a hack but runs on the board is what counts. Shamsi was impressive. Parnell showing his good form, long may it continue. And Rabada... what to say... a 21yr. old leading a SA pace attack says much about the young man.

Not to sure what St Kitts pitch is like but Faf in for Rillee (from personal experience he is not batting after a dislocated shoulder) and Morris in for Phangiso. Would look a much more solid team.

Well done Proteas.

Really makes it difficult to hate Behardien - he looks like an epileptic donkey when he bats, but every now and then he comes good.

Also wasn't sure about the three spinners tactic, but it came off.

Agree with stphndbsn that Du PLessis and Morris in for Rossouw and Phangiso would strengthen the side, would also shorten our tail a bit. Phangiso hasn't done too much wrong though, but Shamsi and Tahir should be ahead of him.

I wonder when the last time was that South Africa played two specialist wrist spinners in an international match? I seriously think the last time might have been in the first two decades of the century, when we had Bertie Vogler, Aubrey Faulkner, and Reggie Schwarz playing together.

This looks like it was the last Test match where all three played in the same match: 4th Test: Australia v South Africa at Melbourne, Feb 17-21, 1911 | Cricket Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo

Yes he deserved M.O.M 750 US dollar
But Finch played great innings too, out of 98, he scored 72
I never seen such crapy show by Australia

SA winning with bonus point
There's been plenty over the last 5-6 years

Against Aus, in spinning conditions, you could play 5 specialist spinners and probably be better off

Agreed, but SA and spinners haven't always gone together well, but it came off.

Also, there eight players of colour in the side, a record apparently. And all there on merit, I reckon.

Firdose must have been happy, just have to get down to one guy and we'll have met her and the government's expectations.

Still not sold on Behardien. Well done it was a good knock under pressure but good international players have consistency.

Rossouw or Duminy out for Faf ? I thought Rossouw played a good innings in the first game.

They couldn't pick Shamsi either. Think he is a real find and on another night could have had 3 or 4 with the LBWs not given.

This.

Not sure how one decent innings seems to have all of a sudden got everyone satisfied that he's good enough, when he's clearly not IMO

Thing is, its not one decent innings. He scores good 20s/30s all the time, finishing off innings, at a run a ball if not better. And those 20/30s are quite often with other top order players or Morris type player and his job is to give them the strike. His biggest problem is struggling to clear boundaries near the end.

Everybody agrees he looks a hack, but he keeps doing a job, better than both Duminy and Rilleee have been doing. And he can also bowl a few overs if needed. We don't have a big hitting proven batting allrounders in SA atm. We have a few bowling allrounders. So their is no obvious replacement while he keeps doing a decent job.
