That really was nothing. Pretty sure no sane person in the world was angry at our number 11 for only lasting 50 something balls when batting for the draw. That is nothing compared to what Anderson went through against SL a couple of years ago in proper cricket, Jimmy came back and so will big Ben.
He was distraught in tears I wouldn't call it nothing, losing a test series with 1 ball left (not his fault) against a side we never lost at home against was gutting, having done so well for 50 minutes then got out to a ball he could have took on the shoulder made it worse for him. That really was nothing. Pretty sure no sane person in the world was angry at our number 11 for only lasting 50 something balls when batting for the draw.
if it was a test series they'd have given him more stick. Most people don't care about T20 in England, win good, lose who cares.Stokes is lucky the English media dont really care about cricket these days back in the day when Atherton was captain they would have slaughtered him.
Saeed Ajmal went for 20 runs in a semi final over in a culture where LO cricket is given more importance than Test and he recovered just fine. Can he come back after this the guy looked distraught at the end of that game when he never really done much wrong it just braithwate a world class hitter of ball.
He admitted after that he should have just let the ball hit him. A bit like Dhoni when he doesn't feel like defending. He was distraught in tears I wouldn't call it nothing, losing a test series with 1 ball left (not his fault) against a side we never lost at home against was gutting, having done so well for 50 minutes then got out to a ball he could have took on the shoulder made it worse for him.
Is this really the case? Genuine question btw, I thought T20 was really popular in England.if it was a test series they'd have given him more stick. Most people don't care about T20 in England, win good, lose who cares.
I'd say that's the case in England and Aus, probably NZ, SA as well. Not sure about the other countries. Is this really the case? Genuine question btw, I thought T20 was really popular in England.
People care more about tests than non tests and Ashes more than tournaments but think Flibberty is overplaying it. It was a world final ffs, it's worth more than a test against Sri Lanka in the summer will be (no offence Sri Lanka). Is this really the case? Genuine question btw, I thought T20 was really popular in England.
I agree with flibberty, and there is another factor at work here that being the hope that this victory will somehow get West Indies cricket back on track - the fact that they won both T20s tells me that despite what some people say the game must be alive and well in the Caribbean and a decent Test side just a decent WICB awayPeople care more about tests than non tests and Ashes more than tournaments but think Flibberty is overplaying it. Samuels had plenty to say for himself, didn't he. Shame that the ignorant **** had to play the victim card and add a sour taste to what was a magnificent win for his boys.Nah he's cooked.
Can you imagine what Samuels was saying to him at the non-striker's end
Definitely not in SA. Crowds will fill the grounds for t20 and 50 overs cricket. But anywhere but newlands, wanderers and centurion the crowds for tests are horrendous.Stokes is going to be world class, if he isn't already.
It was just one very ordinary over and some good hitting. He probably panicked a bit under pressure as well, 4 consecutive good-hitting-length, medium pacers looks bad in hindsight.
I'd say that's the case in England and Aus, probably NZ, SA as well. Not sure about the other countries.
West Indies seem to be opposite.
