IIRC butt was the main contact between the parties. Asif was a dumb**** who just went along. Somebody to shed more light on this but butt was definitely the ringleader.

My take on this is the same as the one on Amir.. if they have completed his punishment, then they are eligible for selection.
Problem here is, neither Butt nor Asif have actually completed their punishment. Butt's original ban is 10 years and Asif's original ban is 7 years which I think is fair. I see no reason why it should be reduced.
They have not done enough for the remaining time to be suspended. These are guys who till the last minute maintained their innocence and refused to acknowledge guilt.
Amir who did all that, completed his full 5 year ban. Once they complete their full term, then we can talk about whether they are eligible or not at that time.

Nope. They got 10 and 7 with the option that 5 and 2 could be suspended respectively. I see no reason why that should happen.

They did, yes. Ironically the only one who didn't have any suspended part of their ban is the one who then contravened it and would've had the suspended part enforced.
