***Official*** Asia Cup 2016

cricman

International 12th Man
I guess this somewhat avenges that Asia Cup Final loss.

Now we need to some how get Rohit out in the final.

Batting is way to short. Nasir has to come in for Sunny in the final

No doubt in my mind had Amir played these past 5 years he would have broken all the fastest/youngest to 50, 100, 150, 200 Wicket records

I think he is a decent limited overs bowler, but just struggles when the pressure is on at International level.
I liked his bowling today. I can see Waqar working with him a bit and pulling 2-3 good years out of him.

I think what cricman is saying that if Amir had not fixed those games, then he would have been the youngest etc.

Sami bowled 8 very good yorkers in his last over. Don't know what else you guys want from him.

lol Sami, but he isn't really to blame for this loss. Its the batting that's the culprit, as usual
While his final over was horrible, lets not forget it was Anwar bloody Ali bowling the last over, so Bangladesh were always winning this match anyhow.

This is the problem with picking players in Pakistan team based on domestic form. Khurram blasted 3 centuries last month and yet you look at him for one ball and you know he doesn't belong here.

Haris Sohai, Babar Azam, Sami Aslam need to fill this top order.
Isn't Babar injured? Sohail is definitely injured anyway.

I'd also wag my finger at Afridi for again under using Malik as a bowler, one over when it was turning. :@

Just to play devil's advocate, Malik got hammered by UAE in the previous match and his bowling is hit and miss (more miss) and Malik himself did not trust Malik the bowler that much in PSL.

Sohail has been injured for so long now :(

Babar I am not sure when he got injured? He barely played in PSL

He should be opening. Waqar has said that he is looking at Babar as a potential long term opener but I don't think the management is supporting him in that.

Still think the 17-20 overs should have been
5th bowler-Sami-Amir-Irfan, and not the other way round

It's still hard to predict who are the best and worst T20 sides. India are certainly in the top three. Whatever happens in the final, this Asia cup experience will make sure Bangladesh sweep through their qualifying matches at the World T20. I can't see Bangladesh beating India due to the vast batting quality of the sides. It's clear Bangladesh struggle to post and chase over 150 against good sides. India can post and chase 180+ with ease on a lot of occasions.

Amir is back after a five-year hiatus and already comfortably better than any Indian bowler.
probably comfortably better than any other limited overs bowler going around right now other than an injured Starc, and I expect he'll overtake him too.

Gee I wanna see him playing tests.

It annoys me a little that I was refused 5 years of quality entertainment in the form of an exceptional bowler. And then when I see Amir shatter the stumps with an impressive yorker, I am annoyed a little more thinking of how much more impressive that yorker would have been with 5 more years of experience behind it.

Don't worry – Bangladesh will beat Australia and New Zealand. Top 8 teams Bangladesh have beaten in the past 12 or so months:

England (1)
India (2)
Pakistan (5)
South Africa (2)
Sri Lanka (1)

Under-19 side winning series against South Africa (home and away) Sri Lanka (away) and West Indies (champions) plus achieving a 3rd place finish. I know test Cricket is a different story but still...those achievements are hard to ignore. Bangladesh are trying to improve their woeful performances at test level. They revamped their main first class system, and even have a franchise-based first class tournament that is currently going on.
