Like Munro in SA. Right place, right time.
Who else should they have chosen and why?
(Note NZ A middle order vs SL A earlier this season was MBraces, Nicholls, Munro, Young. Nicholls scored two 100s and one 50 form two games, Young one 50 from one game. MBraces and Munro not successful).

Brownlie the obviois option. Will Young hasn't had an outstanding season but even now he strikes me as more likely to thrive in test cricket. Might even be worth giving Elliot a go, he's at least got recent experience of facing quality bowling in pressure situations and provides some handy overs.

Brownlie is yesterday's man. I like Nicholls, wouldn't mind seeing a bit of Young if Nicholls fails.

Need 320+ but can't see us getting there.
These two aren't looking for the boundaries, it's all fine running 1's and 2's but you should be also looking for at least the one boundary off the over from here.

You would think so, but given the way wickets have fallen in clumps this series its tough to say with any certainty. Nz definitely owe Baz a big debt for getting them off to such a strong start here. We've been awful for the last 20 overs, but should still be able to hit 300.

Haha I didn't know Nichols was selected for the tests. Doesn't look a player who'll succeed in the longer format at all tbh. Who is he coming in for?
