The thing is, why does Triple H even want to be WWE Champion at this point? He existed, and entered 30, as a spoiler for Reigns. Once Roman was out, his role was fulfilled.

Because it's all about getting Roman over. It's not like HHH won't do the job at WM. Clearly they wanted Roman to be the 'underdog' going into WM, although Roman could totally win it at Fastlane

Still don't like how the Owens-AJ-Zayn-Dean stuff went down. Could have easily had it so Dean-AJ & Owens-Zayn was pencilled in. I guess Owens-AJ @ fastlane but then Zayn 'saves' AJ which leads to Owens-Zayn @ WM? Dean really should face AJ, or Owens, though and def not Y2J.

Yeah true. But the Rumble was still used to tell their story, just not necessarily one that will definitely take place at Wrestlemania.

Bray rejecting HHH was another interesting moment that's been overlooked.

That was a very enjoyable rumble overall even though I'm obviously not a fan of the finish. Don't know why HHH had to win pretty much perfectly clean, but oh well, that's how he rolls

Dean loses IC after Owens takes out ref, one of Zayn/AJ, or even both, race down to save Dean, or at least stop Owens, and accidentally takes out Dean and Owens gets the cover (This is a mess but DID YOU JUST SEE WHAT HAPPENED)
Roman wins obviously, but you've got your big HHH-Roman match done
Dean retains after Wyatt Family interference obviously

i guess HHH has nothing to do @ WM but whatever, they want to make Fastlane into a big PPV or something so suck it Trips

Hard to pick my favourite moment. Ambrose vs. Owens had a lot of cool spots, Sashas double swerve was cool and the Flair bits in the Becky match were still interesting. R- Truth with a pretty amusing ladder spot. Some really gun Sister Abigail's from Bray too and I marked for HHH vs. Bray.

Also arguably the best Rumble ever for surprise appearances

Styles, Sami Zayn and HHH, and they did such a good job keeping the crowd from ****ting on it. Possibly the best Rumble PPV ever and a top five rumble match.

It's all about The Game baby. WWE are monumental trolls. As much as I love me some HHH, I just hope we don't get him vs Roman at WM. I want Roman vs Brock II.

The whole thing was typical of WWE really. Loads of hints at new stuff that could have been genuinely interesting (eg. HhH/Dean, HHH/Bray etc...) only for it tobe whisked away and replaced with the same old tropes. HHH defending the world title just shouldn't be happening anymore, period.

AJ appearing was cool, but be basically got the WCW treatment. Spent the entire time selling to midcarders, barely getting in any offence, whilst the commentators try not to laugh as they say how well he's doing. The lack of any other surprise entrants was kind of sucky too.

that's a really fun match from the NJPW show from last night. well worth watching if you've got a spare 20 odd. Dragon Lee is like 20yo which is bonkers. They've been in a big feud in Mexico for the past year or something. Lost it at this double stomp thing

I think I'm gonna watch a lot of NJPW this year. The times for their shows line up really well in Australia (like prime time) and I'm getting a feel for the roster. and njpw world helps.

I've got mixed feelings about the HHH thing. He's obviously doing the job, probably at WM. And the way they're going with Roman, he was the best man for the job. But did it really have to be done this way? and isn't it #problematic when your two biggest heels are a 70yo man and HHH who wrestlers twice a year?

Also, from what I can tell, NXT does their last tapings until WM on Wednesday, so theoretically, there's nothing stopping Zayn or even Joe doing Raw for awhile, as long as it doesn't conflict with whatever story they're doing on NXT

With Cena, Rollins, Sting, Orton, DBryan and to a lesser extent Cesaro all injured and The Rock apparently not being able to wrestle due to insurance issues with his current films you have very few options for Wrestlemania.

I personally don't feel they needed the belt to tell the next chapter of this Reigns HHH story but I certainly think it's worthy of it.

actually, I would have preferred it if HHH wasn't ever in the Rumble, but eliminated Roman. I know that's a no go though, they wanted the big pop when his music hits.

One other thing that, in hindsight, annoys me, is Zayn staying in after getting rid of Owens. Eliminating himself along with Owens could have worked well, like with Foley-Orton. Particularly given Zayn did nothing afterwards
