Speed guns weren't routinely used in matches until fairly recently (eg 90s). When McGrath was first measured routinely, people were surprised he wasn't faster. He was hard to hit and batsmen thought he was much faster than he was.Yeah it's crazy that they had a dodgy speed gun 40 years ago, then used a legit one for 40 years, and now have gone back to the dodgy one. Those quicks in the stolen generation got duped.
HehIts called an effort ball you ****
Still is out of the hand.didnt they used to measure speed out of the bowler's hand back in the day as opposed to at the batsman's crease? might be the reason roberts got clocked at 160
Because if you bowl it downwards it isn't going forwards as fast - i.e. the less the ball has to move up/down the less overall distance it's got to go along the 22 yards forwards, so dead straight yorkers don't have to go as fast overall to appear faster to the batsman.then why do we talk about bouncers vs yorkers making a difference? velocity should be the same before the ball bounces
Yeah it's a big deal. The side is one bat down and the rest of the top-6 have to adjust their play knowing that. Smith's only 'due' in a fan sense, he still has to actually score the runs and Warner would be fatigued after batting a day and a bit and then spending almost two days in their field on top of all the batting he did only last week.Ok I don't think not having Khawaja is going to be that big a deal. The guy just came in. The best batsman in the side is due for a big knock any time now, not to forget Warner.
Let me explain how the speed radar works.then why do we talk about bouncers vs yorkers making a difference? velocity should be the same before the ball bounces
yup slats was very very good when he was commentating during the english summer for channel 4.Swear Slats was legit good commentator in his first couple of years. Reminds me of that episode of Family Guy where Brian has a respectable radio show and then turns into a shock jock to be popular.
F. Disruptive in class, must try harder. This is supposed to be "test" cricket, not a ****ing open book exam without time limit
Amazing from Williamson. In recent years in Australia we've seen Kohli, Vaughan and Amla have excellent series where they never looked like getting out, I feel as though Williamson is surpassing them all this series.
IIRC Vaughan made big in Australia before Virat
Yeah you've done well to remember that correctly seeing as though Kohli was just last year. Not sure why you'd think I was naming the 3 bats in order of when we've seen them..
Why wouldn't you?
Because I was just posting on a Cricket forum not writing a ****ing masterpiece. The 3 bats I named (not listed) were the 3 RH bats who I think have dominated Australia at home this century.
Yeah but its weird to put Vaughan in the middle
Get over it you ****, ****head, ****
EDIT - you ****head, ****, ****
Virat,Amla,Vaughan imo
Well **** this **** im out.Good from KW though this is the best batting I've seen from a touring batsman in Australia since
Virat,Vaughan,Amla
Gob, I gave you a like because you were leaving more than anything.
