You'd do the same if you were an international captain my man. Hence why I said make it one review, so they don't.

Is Boult off the field with injury? Shame to see him come to Australia, quite clearly still worrisome about his injury and not prepared to bend his back. 12 months too late, this series. Hopefully finds it later in the summer.
not after I've watched the DRS for 3-4 years and hence understood that marginal/umpire calls happen quite a bit....

What is most worrying is the NZ bowlers have not learnt from Brisbane. You'd think after the pasting they took there they'd have realised that 1) the ball is not swinging and 2) they need to bowl differently. But nope, none of that. Same all tripe served up each over.

I feel a little sorry for Boult and Southee. So good in the right conditions. Masterly in fact. Yet these conditions do not suit bowlers of their type. What do ya do?
Boult's going at over 5 an over, there's only so much he can blame the conditions for that.

Look at players like Anderson. When the ball is swinging he's looking to bowl teams out quickly, because those are his conditions. When the ball isn't moving, he makes sure that he hits that line and length every time, keeping the run rate down, and building pressure.

Great bowlers don't get the excuse of unfavourable conditions. He's bowling tripe.

I don't think it should be revised. If it is marginal then it should be umpire's call. That's what they're there for. Overall the 50/50s will even out over time. DRS is there for the howlers e.g. inside edge on to pad given out lbw etc.
Well it comes back to how reliable to ball tracking is on ones clipping. Otherwise I don't see why the umpire's imperfect split second reaction should get special weight in whether clipping is out/not out. If there is a margin of error that means you can't say with high confidence it would have hit, then I'd just say in all those cases the benefit could go to the batsmen.

I've been impressed with Bracewell tbf.

It was the best of roads, it was the worst of roads,
it was the road of wisdom, it was the road of foolishness, it was the road of belief, it was the epoch of road, it was the season of road, it was the road of darkness, it was the spring of road, it was the road of despair, we are a road before us, before us was a road, we were all going direct to road, we were all going direct to road - in short, it truly was a time of roads. Roads to the east of us, roads to the west of us, roads unnumbered.

Might be different if you were stood at mid on at 200-1, having stood there for 3 hours praying for a wicket. Very different to knowing when to call for it on the couch.

If it implicitly there for the howler, as so many people keep telling me, then 2 reviews is a nonsense.

Why?
