Seriously this is beyond bad for NZ.

Southee and Boult have been considered world class bowlers but the **** they've been dishing up in the last three inning is awful beyond compare. How can two bowlers of such renown perform so poorly?! Sure the ball is not swinging, and Southee and Boult are swing bowlers. BUT, they are also experienced bowlers who have bowled in different conditions. They should know that if the ball is not swinging they need to bowl differently.

I've just re-read what I wrote above and I'm thinking perhaps both Southee and Boult are lot more injured than we are being told.

Might be different if you were stood at mid on at 200-1, having stood there for 3 hours praying for a wicket. Very different to knowing when to call for it on the couch.
Exactly - the fact that umpires tend to make mistakes from the best position on the field suggests it's not always that easy (especially for LBW's). The third umpire could take on more responsibility.

I'm a bit worried about how NZ's going to fare against Lyon given Guptill is looking dangerous.

Boulty, I'd wager, is still milky with his back. Brisbane should've suited him but he was awful. Southee, I can't answer. Maybe history shows he needs to be playing a group of Tests in a row, not none since June, to be at his best.

McCullum's bowling is so filthy. CricInfo describes it as medium pace. That's generous IMO.

The pitches are roads. The grass is around the edges of the pitches, any seam movement is slight. The Aussies have more pace, a better spinner and all the umpiring calls go their way.

The kookaburra hardly swings at the best of times. It's a turd of a ball. The English Duke ball is the superior ball. Skilful bowlers who can get the ball swinging love the Duke ball. Starc gets his big swing in one day cricket with a white ball, and Johnson is just a slinger.
