Cricketweb decides the greatest bowler ever in a 64 player bracket. Contest thread.

I'm surprised by how easily Hadlee is beating Imran tbh. Another one of those cases where most people rate him higher, but only very very slightly.
Yeah, that's exactly it I reckon. If everyone was asked to rate the bowlers on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the hypothetical Greatest Bowler Of All Time, Hadlee would probably be winning by something like 9.3 to 9.1 or similar.

Holy ****, you're not far off. 46 tests, 178 wickets @ 25.69

For some reason I've thought his stats would have been something like 60 tests, 240 wickets @ 24.
Must admit that I'm surprised that Shoaib's average is so low - 25.69 is really very good for a fast bowler who goes for all out pace rather than line and length.

But since Kapil shouldered the Indian attack for a decade then I think that he deserved to be called the greater of the two. Especially as he averaged 25 against both Australia and the West Indies. Unfortunately English fans didn't see the best of Kapil, but in Australian conditions he was excellent. His 5 for 28 in 1981 at the MCG to bowl Australia out for 83, and to give India a rare victory on Australian soil, springs to mind.
