The idea is to keep the MAs importing Shaun Taits and Kevin O'Briens, despite no Champions League.

Yeah I don't think they're really making a genuine attempt to insentivise T20 skill development over other skills, even though that's precisely what will happen long-term, particularly for players not quite good enough for central contracts. It's all about keeping the SuperSmash full of ringers so it rates better; the incentive is for the teams rather than the players. I'm not even really convinced the ringers would help the ratings given they're rarely if ever household names though. Poor decision.

Henry Nicholls the highest runscorer, to the surprise of no-one. I'll try to not get that fussy cat gif out for him if he keeps delivering like this.

In the expressive intent and shot options of Tim Seifert, you can see an element of this right now. :p

Senrathne, who hails from Kandy and once played for the Kandurata provincial side under the captaincy of Kumara Sangakkara in what was effectively a Sri Lankan international team trials in 2009, is mindful another countryman, Mahela Jayawardene who will make his CD debut against the Wellington Firebirds on November 19.

"I've been six years in New Zealand and finally I get play for CD so I have nothing to lose so I'll be giving it my best and see what comes out of it."

Haha, this is embarassing stuff. Watching this and the test in combination, I can't help but feel that the last 2 years have been some wonderful dream that I've just woken up from.

What was the consensus on Yarrow Park? Felt like a throwback of near 'obviously converted rugby ground' venue (e.g. Carisbrook). Cleaver made that leg side boundary look pretty tiny..

Yeah well it's hard to knock Yarrow for this level of cricket if we're all loathe to call Pukekura Park mickey mouse, despite some of the Taylor and Munro innings we've seen there..
