Missed stumping, edge through vacant 2nd slip with pointless ring fielders and Broad dropping a hard but by no means impossible catch.

Can't shell this many chances on this kind of pitch.

Sums up the series in a way. Missed decent opportunities to win the first one and draw the second.
I suppose Bairstow's incompetence behind the stumps is part of the pact we signed when deciding to go without a full-time keeper some years ago. Still pretty galling though, especially as he of all people should be able to read Rashid's googly.
I've got more sympathy for Broad tbh.

Harsh to call it incompetence, was a massive ripping googly and can't remember Bairstow missing anything else.

I actually think England could get absolutely hammered from here. They're not even out of the game yet but I'm just feeling a 150+ run loss. Broad and Anderson will need a fair rest now which is the perfect situation for a set Misbah, and the pitch is turning now so I can really see England capitulating in the second innings.

EDIT: Actually I've lost the plot completely; second new ball is due now and it's lunch. Completely lost all sense of time in the game somehow.
