So obviously, not actually being out there, you can judge the weather accurately?

Graeme Smith made the point that the sweating is what gets to the saffers. In Chennai, with the coast running along the city, you do not get dry heat. YOu sweat, a lot but it does not mean it was particularly hotter than most other venues these guys play in their summers in the SC or even in RSA.
It's irrelevant how hot it is in other venues. Today it was pretty hot in Chennai quite clearly. It may not be as hot as it gets but who cares about that. FTR, you are also not at the ground today.

Whatever it takes!!!
I thought they could get to 300 even with the tail being weak. Was surprised we didn't manage to.

So obviously your previous post in response to mine had no relevance at all. Great.

And if you thought when ***** made that post that it was entirely implausible that India can be kept to 250 odd then you obviously think that the tail that starts with Axar can put together more than 30 against those fast bowlers. I find that ridiculous.

I also don't understand why you are getting all precious about Chennai. It was quite hot in Mumbai today. If it was a game there, I would say the same - that it is very hot.

Yeah and I live like 7 Kms away unless you think the weather changes dramatically over that distance. 8-)

And it is not irrelevant how hot it can be in other grounds. It means that these players would have experienced it before and would have a good idea how to cope.

WTF. Why are you getting all uptight. Chill. Both posts make sense.

As I mentioned, I thought it was quite improbable we would not reach 300. Despite the tail failing, which you think it would, we got 299, not 250.

I am not getting precious about Chennai. I am getting precious about the hyperbole you are giving for what is fairly normal weather. You are making it sound like the entire RSA team will be in ice after this innings when its a lot more pleasant than that even right now outside.

Oh, god, so uptight. Weather can change dramatically over 2 km also. I have experienced the Sahara Desert before. Doesn't mean I can cope with it.

AGain, conveniently ignoring that ***** posted about the "possibility" of us losing a couple of quick wickets, which happens fairly often in LOIs. Are you trying to tell me that you knew all along that we wont lose quick wickets when ***** made that post?

No, you are just getting uptight for no real reason. Maybe the hot weather has got to you. :p

Pollock is at the ground, you are not. He has played a lot of games. He thought it was hot and humid conditions and difficult for the players. But obviously you are the expert as you have lived for a long time in Chennai and know it's not difficult for the SA players.

LS was at the ground and he said it was not as hot and as humid as it usually is. Obviously you have watched tv and you are the expert...

Listen, for the last time, yes it is hot conditions than your average cricket venue but it is nothing unbearable and no one is gonna need ice baths. People sweat a lot in Chennai coz of this being a coastal city. It does not mean they are THAT dehydrated. Let this fact get to you when it can.

Kumble says it's humid conditions and will help Bhuvneshwar Kumar swing the ball compared to the other games. But obviously, Kumble is not from Chennai and it's great weather and Kumble is an idiot.

No, I am not going to listen to your stupid theories, certainly not when you start off so uptight. Keep shouting all you want. Tell it 10000 times. Don't care. I will believe the experts and my eyes.

Where did I say it was not hot and humid? I said it was not AS bad as you are making it out to be. Its Chennai, of course there is always humidity. Its the coast, for God's sakes..

South African players often cramp in those conditions... derailed many a run chase for us in the past.

It could be worse of course... what a fantastic yardstick.
