Pakistan would be just about declaring around now if Cook had handled the ball second ball( they wouldn't have enforced the follow on)

At lunch today I was looking at declaring 15 or 20 overs into day 5 with a lead of 130-150 and having 70 overs at Pakistan. That chance has gone. As Scaly says this is England's best chance of getting a win although those chances have diminished massively in this session.

Bairstow is out of his depth at this level. [James Taylor] If only England [James Taylor] had someone [James Taylor] that they could try instead.

James Taylor.

How is this innings longer in minutes than Hutton's 364 despite being 350 balls shorter? What the **** were the overrates pre War?

Edit: I know Aus bowled a lot of spin but still.

Over rates have a lot to do with it but it's also strike.

Cook hasn't actually had much strike today because he's just been taking a single all the time with the square fielders out. I imagine Hutton must have kept the lion's share

True. That team innings is the longest ever though and was over inside three days. Must've got about 120 overs per day in, which is insane.
