So Rahul will get another shot at opening I guess. If Vijay's fit then I think Pujara's sitting out again. Rahul could get dropped for Pujara which might not be the worst thing to happen.

On Jadeja, I think his role was not defined in test matches. If SL had a player like him he would play at #7. The issue I see with Indian cricket is that coaches fail to recognize players abilities and fail to give a role in the team for them. SL is pretty behind India in talent but we know how to identify roles for each player. That's how we converted off spinner in to batsman who averaged 45+ in test matches (Samaraweera), and a two middle order keeper batsmen in to a openers (Dilshan and Kaushal Silva), and left arm spinner in to a ATG ODI player (Jayasuriya). Everybody has their roles defined.

If Jadeja had a role defined and he kept playing according to it, now he would have hit gold for India.
Yeah pretty much agree with you here, they played Jadeja as a front line spinner in a 4-man attack (which he is not) and then they judged him as an all rounder. I kept going on and on about playing Ashwin and Jadeja during pretty much all of 2014 to restore the balance but no we prefer Rohit "talented" Sharma <_<

Whatever it takes!!!
It has to be Vijay for Dhawan, Pujara for Nohit, Umesh for Aaron and Bhuvi for Bhaji in this test coming up, right? Pleaseeeeeeeee...

Not much optimism about Aaron these days here ?

Its understandable I suppose, if you are going to be expensive you need to take wickets, and he doesn't really. Its a shame because their is definitely something to work with.

What would be Jadejas role then?Hes no frontline spinner, but you can't say that he took the chances that he had too bat top 6.

I think it's already been pretty much confirmed by Kohli that Rohit will stay in the side at 3, unless he just gets straight up over-ruled. That's why people were coming up with alternative ways of getting Pujara in the side. I agree with your changes but holding out too much hope for them will just get you upset.

You know after a time it becomes boring. This continuous bull**** talk of playing aggressive cricket from Shastri is becoming horse ****.

It's weird to think this - but I was thinking Raina wouldn't be too bad in these conditions, would he? I mean if we picked him for just this one series and then regardless of the scores vowed not to pick him ever again - that wouldn't be a bad deal.
