Love it when brothers play for the same side in the same role. Sam Curran is slightly better than the elder one, I gather?

Craig Overton 4 overs, 1 maiden, 4 for 2 against Yorkshire. Had Maxwell caught for 4, and then bowled Ballance for 6. Handy start.

Tom's having a very good season, but Sam looks like he could be seriously good in time. I wonder why he hasn't been picked for England U-19s - that'll be rectified soon surely.

Yorkshire 31-4 against Somerset at Scarborough, not helped by the 10.30 start. I thought they only did that in September?

Just to add that you'll really know your clock's ticking on when England first pick a player who is younger than you. Which may possibly be young Sam in a couple of years or so.

fwiw mine was Norman Cowans many years ago.
Phil DeFreitas, on the next Ashes tour, was mine I think. The last England player older than me was 'Winker' Watkinson, 20 years ago now. :(

Potentially, but they are both so young that an awful lot could change.

Shame their dad isn't around to see them make their way in the game.

Northants opening with two keepers, while Josh Cobb is down to bat seven - curious. Having much the better of Kent anyway. I daresay Bairstow and Buttler are nailed on as keepers for the winter tours, but hopefully Duckett will get a go somewhere. Perhaps someone here knows what his keeping's like - I note that Murphy has the gloves for this game.

You must be a couple of years younger than me. I always had you slightly older, but only based on your avatar, which I thought to be a selfie.

Likewise with the oldest, I think. Or else John Emburey, who also played a test or two in the 1995 series.

We're all getting a bit hyped about Sam, but TBF Tom has been incredibly solid this year too, really quick as well. Who knows how they'll develop. The bun can go though.

Nick Gubbins having a good list A season so far for the ***. He looked like type of player who had plenty of time when I saw him.

Yeah saw a bit of his innings against Sussex on Sky the other day. The bowling was utter **** but there were some effortless looking flicks for 6.

Plenty of spinners on show in Swansea. Glamorgan picking two offies, Gloucestershire going with 3(one left arm) although Hammond is playing partially as a bat as Klinger and ****bain injured.

I liked the look of Gujirit Sandhu of Middlesex when he was on the tv. Not England quality but I reckon a div 2 could pick him and allow him to play a lot more cricket and he would do decently. Swung the new ball at a reasonable pace 80-82 with a slingy action and had some controlled variations for one day cricket. Is a struggle to break into the Middlesex first team in the championship but could do a job elsewhere. Needs to be playing more first team cricket at the age of 23.

Borthwick had a decent game against Leicestershire, it has to be said. Anyone see him bowl recently, I thought he'd seemed to practically given it up?

He is batting well in list A. I wouldn't want him in England side or anything like that but he wouldn't be far off on form.

Just seen that Monty's back for Essex. Unbelievably weak bowling line-up though. No Masters, no Napier, no Ryder, no RTD. An attack of Salisbury, Nijjar, Panesar, Porter and Bopara. Ouch.
