***Official*** English Domestic Season 2015

Viscount Tom

International Debutant
BBCUmpires Nick Cook and Jeremy Lloyds confirmed after the match that they were happy with the way the pitch had played and would not call in a pitch liaison officer.
Don't think they'll be getting one sounds more like bad batting than anything else.

Just to add that you'll really know your clock's ticking on when England first pick a player who is younger than you. Which may possibly be young Sam in a couple of years or so.

fwiw mine was Norman Cowans many years ago.
Jimmy is about 3 months younger than me, so sadly I reached this point when I was only 20.

I've felt a lot better since I found out older people than we have made their Championship debut, well one person anyway

I don't think he should be picked, but if you are going to pick him on any pitch it would be the Oval wouldn't it?

Damn Crane with a five for. Not a bad quintet either. 2 former test players (Trott, Ambrose), one future one (Hain), Chopra(lions) and Evans.

Certainly will make the bottom of the table interesting if Hampshire can knock over Warwickshire and if Dawson and Crane are going to be a threat for the rest of the season. Sussex will be wanting to get some of their seamers fit.

Couple of good hundreds by Browne and Burns in the EssexSurrey game. Might be a spot for one of them on a lions tour this winter.

I'm really excited at the prospect of Crane. I feel that Hampshire need to stay in Div 1 to give him exposure to the better batsmen on the county circuit. Too often have we seen good Div 1 spinners being smashed in Test matches (I'm looking at you, Kerrigan and Borthwick). Although Ali did well considering he's straight from Div 2.

England need to send him on some Lions tours in the next 12 months because the cupboard is pretty bare with quality English spinners.

I think a few promising young spinners have come on a bit this year, Crane/Poysden/Ansari all bowling well.

Yeah Crane would be the one you'd hope as he has bowled best with the red ball. Bears first class season over now so hope we give young players a run.
