Make sure you have a decent 5th bowler cause your work horse will miss a lot of games here and there.

That's true NUFAN but that's not a reason to think Barnes, Faulkner, O'Reilly, Smith, Root, Pollock or Philander will miss many tests due to injury! There is a reason that these guys played few number of tests and that reason is not injury.

Nothing against Harris though - very good bowler

Whatever it takes!!!
George Ulyett - The original Malinga... Batting Average of 24 and a bowling average of 20 and an actual round arm fast bowler... Only too glad to take him as my first pick.

Coronis

International Coach
Lets start it off with a couple of Saffers. Neil Adcock and Eddie Barlow. Always keep forgetting about Barlow... averaged 45 and 34...

Both excellent choices. I was tempted to pick Adcock myself much earlier on, surprised he was 15th picked. Genuine fast bowler who carried SA's attack at that time.

Whatever it takes!!!
Charles McCartney - Hailed as the most destructive Australian batsman only behind Trumper at his best. Averaged 42 in a difficult era for batsmen and a really really good test class left arm orthodox spinner to boot, with 70 odd wickets and a bowling average of 27...

A bit of a SEhwag of the 1900s.. A man who said he could not stand watching modern cricket because "luscious half volleys being nudged gently back to the bowlers" :)

This is a tricky decision.

I can think of like 4 players who I'm certain fit the matches played criteria. The two batsman are both better than the 2 bowlers and I already have Reid, so I'm going to go for the batsman who's name always features high up on the best averages of all time list, Dudley Nourse. Can't remember whether he played 32 or 34 @ 54?

I'll take 'The Unbowlable' Bill Woodfull to open for my side. 35 tests.

WalkingWicket's Walking Wickets

1.
2. Bill Woodfull
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9. Ryan Harris
10.
11.

Agent TBY

International Captain
Tom Hayward for me, please.

Kind of a nightmare pick, this. Everyone else would've severely limited my flexibility one way or another. Not a good place to be in as early as R2.
